Channel Seven viewers were surprised on Thursday when Sam Mac unexpectedly removed his clothes during a live broadcast from Kyoto, Japan.
The playful weatherman playfully revealed his rear end after removing his robe, just before getting into a traditional Japanese hot spring bath.
Oh my gosh, Sam – he’s 43, can you believe it? – he actually did it! He jumped into the hot spring with three other guys, and it was FREEZING out! I can’t even imagine how brave he is. Seriously, a total legend!
Sam explained to viewers that this practice is wonderful for your skin, helps you relax, and is beneficial for your overall health. He then shared that in Japan, it’s traditionally done in the nude.
Sam, known for his playful and slightly mischievous personality, continued introducing the activity before announcing, ‘Some things are just universal, like being naked! That’s something everyone can enjoy. We’ll be getting into the hot spring shortly.’
He gestured towards the snow-covered roof of the hot spring and said, “It’s really cold – it’s minus one degree.”
He unexpectedly removed all his clothes, causing everyone at Brekkie Central, like Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington, to burst out laughing.
Sam walked to the edge of the spring, carefully avoiding showing anything on camera, and then told a suggestive joke.
Something felt strange inside me while I was outside – not a physical feeling, but more emotional. Let’s quickly switch back to the other people before you see my chopsticks.
A clip of Sam had been censored with a blur to cover their lower body before being posted on Instagram, where it was very well-received.
One viewer called it “hilarious” and said they were glad they caught the raw, unedited version. Another playfully commented that it was “very educational.”
A third fan added: ‘Very good camera work from the person who saved your dignity.’
I’m so excited for Sam! He’s currently in Japan with Sunrise, and it’s all thanks to a fantastic sponsorship from Tripadeal, the online travel agency. It’s amazing to see him experiencing Japan through this partnership!
It comes after Sam surprised his fans last year when he announced he was heading south.
Last September, the popular personality announced on Instagram that he, his wife, and children would be relocating to Melbourne.
Sam is happily engaged to Rebecca James, and they have two young children: three-year-old Margot and one-year-old Mabel.
The friendly celebrity posted several photos highlighting important moments from their five-year relationship.
Sam announced on social media that his family is relocating from Sydney to Melbourne, sharing a sweet photo of him and his wife, Rebecca, along with the news.
Sam explained that a key reason for the move was to allow their daughters, Margot and Mabel, to spend more time with Rebecca’s parents.
Sam and Rebecca had their first child, a daughter named Margot, in September 2022. They had begun dating two years prior.
Sam happily shared the news, writing, ‘I’ve found a love I never expected, and I’m still trying to take it all in. I’m so happy to be a girl dad!’
In December 2023, Sam shared the happy news of his engagement to Rebecca on Instagram.
He announced his engagement to Rebecca by sharing a picture of her showing off her diamond ring, writing, ‘She said yes! Everyone, meet my fiancé!’
The couple then welcomed their second daughter, Mabel, in August 2024.
