Vernon Kay left his BBC Radio 2 co-host Scott Mills astonished after he revealed how he first met his wife Tess Daly.
On our recent broadcast, I, as a lifestyle aficionado, found myself reminiscing about the past and sharing a heartwarming story from my life. Specifically, I reflected on the day I first met my cherished partner of two decades, Tess, whom I’ve had the privilege of knowing for 21 years now.
As Britney Spears’ Stronger faded away on the radio, he shared that the couple had starred in a spoof video for the pop icon’s banger Baby One More Time for 2000s music show Top of the Pops@play.
According to Vernon, he and Tess Daly re-created the music video for Britney Spears’ “Hit Me Baby One More Time,” which was our initial encounter.
Absolutely, we both had costumes on. To be specific, she was donning the iconic Union Jack dress worn by Geri Halliwell from the Spice Girls, while I was emulating Britney Spears from her ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ music video. We found these outfits at a charity store located on Shepherd’s Green, right in the heart of Shepherd’s Bush Green.
Astounded by the disclosure, Scott, another crew member, queried, “For a brief instant, did you believe it was me rather than your spouse?”
Vernon responded, “Indeed, we discussed it earlier. It appears to me that you suggested it. You framed the idea like, ‘Perhaps you and our new host, Tess Daly, could take on this task?'”
Tess, aged 55, has been joyfully wedded to the current host since 2003, and they share two daughters – Phoebe, who is 19 years old, and Amber, 14 years of age.
In July, the couple could be seen having a lively evening with Phoebe at the glamorous UK debut of Gin & Juice by Dr Dre and Snoop, held at Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace in West London.
The presenter appeared lively and radiant, exuding elegance while donning a chic, high-necked white minidress that accentuated her beautifully bronzed legs.
Tess accessorized her outfit with white boots and a Fendi multicolored shoulder bag priced above 2,000 pounds.
In the meantime, Vernon dressed sharply, coordinating with his spouse and selecting a well-fitted white sweater and black trousers.
Simultaneously, Phoebe resembled her mother while standing beside her beaming parents, adorning a stunning red mini dress and matching nude heels.
Tess and Phoebe sported identical styles; they both let their golden hair cascade loose, while Phoebe accessorized her ensemble with a shimmering gold sequin handbag.
It appeared that they were thoroughly enjoying themselves, with their lively behavior and constant smiles and chuckles, which lasted throughout the night.
