Vernon Kay forced to pull out of BBC Radio 2 show “under doctor’s orders”
As a seasoned gamer with years of experience in navigating through various digital landscapes, I must say that hearing about Vernon Kay’s health concerns has brought a sense of empathy and understanding. Just like when my character in “The Witcher 3” contracted a mysterious illness, I too have faced the harsh reality of a hoarse voice and the need for rest.
Vernon Kay has revealed he was forced to pull out of his BBC Radio 2 show “under doctor’s orders“.
On September 24th, the presenter shared via his Instagram Stories that he was dealing with a nagging throat issue and had been instructed by medical professionals to give his overused voice a break.
“Morning everyone. Under doctor’s orders, I’m resting my voice,” he said.
“I think everything will be fine tomorrow, but today I need to take a break from speaking and let my voice rest. It’s feeling a bit tired and strained, apparently, becoming quite hoarse. However, I’ll return tomorrow.
Following listener feedback expressing worry about Kay’s vocal quality during his September 23rd radio broadcast, several suggestions for throat relief have been proposed to assist him.
As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but notice Vernon Kay’s voice sounding quite hoarse the other day. Could it be that he’s battling a cold or perhaps a sore throat? I always find hot lemon or honey, especially when combined, to provide some relief for a scratchy throat.
One user suggested that VernonKay could benefit from a hot cup of lemon and honey to ease his symptoms. Another user recommended a home remedy for a sore throat: slice some tomatoes, soak them in honey, eat them, and they should help him recover.
As a game enthusiast, I couldn’t help but chime in with a sympathetic thought: “Man, Vernon Kay’s voice today is rough, it seems like he’s lost some of his usual vocal strength. Hope you get well soon, Vern!
Today, Gaby Roslin took over the hosting duties from Zoe Ball’s temporary leave, stepping up to host the mid-morning program by Kays, which started airing at 9:30 a.m.
During the broadcast, Roslin extended her good wishes to the host of All Star Family Fortunes, Vernon, by expressing concern for his sore throat: “I hope you’re feeling better, Vernon. I tuned in yesterday and really enjoyed the show; however, I was a bit concerned about your voice. So, please take it easy today and try not to talk.
After a lengthy hiatus, Ball made her comeback to the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show on Monday, expressing gratitude towards her co-hosts Scott Mills and DJ Spoony.
A famous “Celebrity Gogglebox” cast member disclosed in March that her mother, Julia Peckham, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, prompting her to take a break for family support. Later on in April, she sadly announced that Julia had passed away.
The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show airs between 6.30am and 9.30am on BBC Radio 2 every weekday. Vernon Kay’s BBC Radio 2 show airs on weekdays at 9.30am.
