With 13 years of watching this captivating series, I’ve grown attached to the characters like an old sweater on a chilly winter night. The finale of Vera was set following Blethyn’s declaration in April that she would relinquish her role, with the actress expressing, “Working on Vera has brought me immense pleasure since its inception, and it’s regrettable to bid farewell.

During the holiday season, Vera will conclude, but Dame Harriet Walter (Blethyn) has revealed that she doesn’t intend to retire completely from acting. In fact, she has already agreed to participate in a fresh, upcoming feature film project.
