Vera Wang, 76, flaunts her toned abs in a black co-ord as she shows off her age-defying looks at the BAFTA Awards Nominees Party in London

Okay, let me tell you, Vera Wang absolutely nailed her look at the BAFTA Nominees Party in London this weekend! She wore a stunning black coordinated set – a real statement piece that everyone was talking about. It just proves she always knows how to make an entrance!

The 76-year-old designer was one of the many celebrities at a party held at the National Portrait Gallery before the awards show on Sunday.

Vera looked stunning in a matching two-piece outfit – a cropped bandeau top and a long maxi skirt – which highlighted her fit physique.

She completed the outfit with long leather gloves, a large black hat, and a cozy, dark grey fur hand warmer.

Vera looked amazing on the red carpet, seemingly defying her age with her stunning appearance.

Last month, David Jonsson and Aimee Lou Wood—both recognized as rising stars in 2025—revealed the nominees for the 2026 BAFTA awards.

Following its strong showing at the Academy Award nominations, the film One Battle After Another received a total of 14 nominations, more than any other film this year. This includes a nomination for its lead actor, Leonardo DiCaprio.

The film Sinners received the second-highest number of nominations with 13. Marty Supreme and Hamnet both earned eleven nominations each. Frankenstein and Sentimental Value each received eight, while I Swear and Bugonia were nominated five times. The Ballad of Wallis Island, Pillion, and F1 each garnered three nominations.

The nominees for Best Film are Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, and Sinners and Sentimental Value.

Chloe Zhao’s film Hamnet, based on Maggie O’Farrell’s acclaimed novel about Shakespeare’s family, has received more BAFTA nominations than any other film directed by a woman.

Find out who wins at the EE BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday, February 22nd, airing on BBC One and available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

Jessie Buckley, the acclaimed Irish actress, is continuing her impressive awards season run. She’s received a nomination for her performance in Hamnet, following recent wins at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards, as well as Academy Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations earlier this month.

The nominees for Leading Actress at the BAFTAs include Rose Byrne for her role in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Kate Hudson for Song Sung Blue, Chase Infiniti for One Battle After Another, Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value, and Emma Stone for Bugonia.

Paul Mescal, who acted alongside Jessie Buckley in Hamnet, wasn’t nominated for an Oscar, but he did receive a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He’s up against Benicio Del Toro (One Battle After Another), Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Peter Mullan (I Swear), Sean Penn (One Battle After Another), and Stellan Skarsgard (Sentimental Value).

As a huge fan, I’m so thrilled to see Leonardo DiCaprio nominated for another BAFTA! This is his seventh nomination, and I’m really hoping he’ll finally win his second one for his incredible performance in ‘One Battle After Another’ – it’s already won so many awards, and he absolutely deserves the recognition.

Okay, so the buzz is building about next year’s awards season, and honestly, it’s already shaping up to be a really competitive one! I’m seeing a lot of talk about one actor going up against some serious contenders – Timothée Chalamet for his work in ‘Marty Supreme,’ Robert Aramayo in ‘I Swear,’ Ethan Hawke with ‘Blue Moon,’ Michael B. Jordan in ‘Sinners,’ and Jesse Plemons for ‘Bugonia.’ It’s going to be fascinating to watch how this all plays out!

Oh my gosh, I’m SO excited for the Supporting Actress category! I’m really hoping Wunmi Mosaku, who was incredible in ‘Sinners,’ can win! She’s British, you know, and honestly, she deserves it! Plus, she’s up against Carey Mulligan (‘The Ballad Of Wallis Island’) and Emily Watson (‘Hamnet’), who are both amazing, but I’m totally rooting for Wunmi. A British win would be incredible!

Completing the list are Odessa A’Zion, working on Marty Supreme’s project, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas for Sentimental Value, and Teyana Taylor for One Battle After Another.

This year’s BAFTA Film Awards see first-time nominees Robert Aramayo, Odessa A’zion, Rose Byrne, Chase Infiniti, Michael B. Jordan, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Stellan Skarsgård, and Teyana Taylor all receiving their first nomination in a performance category.

Two of the six directors nominated for Best Director are first-timers: Ryan Coogler, for his work on Sinners, and Josh Safdie, for Marty Supreme.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to see Ryan Coogler getting the recognition he deserves! Just a week after Sinners landed a record-breaking 16 Academy Award nominations – including Best Picture, which is huge – it’s fantastic to see that success continuing with the BAFTA nominations. It’s a really exciting time for him and his work!

The film has surpassed the Oscars record previously held by All About Eve (1950), Titanic (1997), and La La Land (2016), all of which received 14 nominations.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s film, ‘Meanwhile One Battle After Another,’ which tells the story of a former revolutionary looking for his lost daughter, has received 13 Academy Award nominations.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s film received BAFTA nominations for all four acting awards, and has two potential winners in the Supporting Actor category with nominations for both Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro.

Oh my gosh, Wes Anderson got nominated for Best Director! And it’s not just that – the movie is everywhere with nominations! Adapted Screenplay, Casting, Cinematography, Editing, the Original Score, Production Design, even Sound – they recognized everything! I’m seriously losing it, it’s amazing! This movie is a masterpiece and it’s finally getting the recognition it deserves!

While ‘Sinners’ receiving the second-highest number of BAFTA nominations is a key distinction, it’s not the only difference when comparing those nominations to the Oscar nominations.

Despite not receiving any Oscar nominations, the movie Wicked: For Good did earn two nominations at the BAFTAs, recognizing its costume design and hair and makeup artistry.

However, the Brazilian thriller The Secret Agent also earned two nominations, which is half the number it received at the Oscars, where it was recognized in significant categories like Best Actor and Best Picture.

The film K-pop Demon Hunters wasn’t eligible for BAFTA consideration because Netflix released it for streaming in the UK before its theatrical release, which violates BAFTA’s rules.

The nominees for the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award were announced earlier this month.

The nominees for the 2026 prize were announced at a press conference held at London’s Savoy Hotel on January 14th. They are Archie Madekwe (for his work in Lurker), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), Miles Caton (Sinners), Posy Sterling (Lollipop), and Robert Aramayo (I Swear).

A panel of industry professionals – including actors Joe Alwyn, Sheila Atim, and Benedict Wong – selected the nominees, along with other experts in the field.

The EE Rising Star Award is unique among the EE BAFTA Film Awards because it’s the only one decided by a public vote.

Past winners of the Rising Star award feature a number of now-famous actors, including David Jonsson, Mia, Emma Mackey, Kristen Stewart, Eva Green, Lashana Lynch, Letitia Wright, James McAvoy, Daniel Kaluuya, John Boyega, and Tom Hardy.

BAFTA judges reviewed 221 films, and after an initial selection of 82, they narrowed the field down to a final shortlist.

BAFTA CEO Jane Millichip congratulated the creators of the 46 films nominated today, praising them for demonstrating the power of storytelling to captivate, amuse, and spark discussion.

The films nominated this year are remarkable for their daring stories and beautiful artistry. The variety of themes, types of movies, and filmmaking approaches is truly captivating.

I hope all of our nominees, especially those attending for the first time, relish this well-earned recognition. I’m excited to welcome them – along with all of our returning nominees – to London.

We’re thrilled to present the outstanding films and filmmakers celebrated at the 79th EE BAFTA Film Awards. As the UK’s leading arts charity and academy, it’s a privilege to share this event with audiences on BBC, BBC iPlayer, and around the globe on February 22nd.
