Vanna White says she worried about ‘chemistry’ with new Wheel of Fortune host Ryan Seacrest
As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the transition from one host to another in a long-running show like Wheel of Fortune is always an interesting challenge. Vanna White, a household name for over four decades, has shown her maturity and adaptability by embracing the change and trusting in Ryan Seacrest’s abilities.
Vanna White expressed some concern over maintaining the same ‘connection’ or rapport with the new Wheel of Fortune host, Ryan Seacrest.
Since 1982, the 67-year-old has been sharing hosting duties on the show and managing the puzzle section alongside Pat Sajak. More recently, Ryan Seacrest has stepped in to replace Sajak after his retirement.
In a recent interview for CBS Sunday Morning, White was queried on-set about collaborating with Seacrest.
For approximately two decades, I’ve been acquainted with Ryan. However, over the last few months, we’ve traveled together for the show, which has allowed us to become more familiar with each other. As a result, I believe our compatibility has improved.
When asked if she was ‘nervous’ about what kind of chemistry she’d have with Seacrest, she agreed.

She remarked, “Indeed, that rings true, and I hadn’t anticipated it at all. With someone I’ve been accustomed to for such a lengthy period, I must admit I was quite apprehensive. However, he’s exceeding my expectations.”
Ryan Seacrest also mentioned, “This franchise is not just a TV show; it holds significant meaning for people. When I learned about the chance to be a part of it, there was no hesitation – it was an immediate yes, let’s find a way to make it work.”
Over 11 million people watched Pat Sajak’s last episode in June, marking the highest viewership for the show in the past four years.
During the last season of Sajak’s tenure, there was uncertainty about whether White might continue, given a contract disagreement.
She has made $3 million per year hosting the show… though that has been her exact same salary for the past 18 years, with no raises whatsoever, according to TMZ.
As a fervent admirer putting this into my own words, here’s how I’d rephrase it: Year after year, Sajak raked in an astonishing $15 million, yet the rumor mill churned that White was gunning for at least half of Sajak’s earnings.
In the end, she managed to reach a contract agreement with Sony Pictures Television, which included a substantial salary increase for her upcoming roles over the next two seasons.
It’s been mentioned that White’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, might file a lawsuit alleging gender wage inequality against Sony Pictures Television, but this hasn’t been officially verified as of now.

Last month, Wheel of Fortune accidentally leaked their new puzzle board while unveiling a first look of Ryan Seacrest as host following Pat Sajak’s retirement.
Initially, the famous media personality, aged 49, and Vanna White were spotted together in preparation for Season 42, due to air in the coming month. Detail-oriented internet users quickly pointed out that the stage underwent some modifications.
During the CBS game show, the answer display on the puzzle board appeared larger and featured a fresh, golden-tiled frame.
Earlier, our board used to have a teal-blue background. As of now, we’re unsure whether these modifications are merely cosmetic or if they offer any extra functionalities as well.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself intrigued by the latest puzzle board innovation. One user, in particular, labeled the updates as “quite intriguing, to put it mildly.”
