Vanessa Williams reveals she ended her 6-year marriage in 2021: ‘I’m in love with life’

Her latest revelation about her divorce from Jim Skrip, after six years of marriage, is yet another testament to her ability to bounce back from challenging situations.

In a recent revelation, Vanessa Williams announced that she had silently concluded her six-year long marriage to businessman Jim Skrip in the year 2021. During a conversation on Wednesday, the 61-year-old actress shared details about her divorce.

“According to People, Williams expressed her passion for what she enjoys and her deep appreciation for life. She doesn’t have a specific person she’s in love with, but rather finds love in everyone around her.”

In 2012, the “Desperate Housewives” actor had her initial three-hour long encounter with her future spouse during a Nile River cruise in Egypt.

In an interview with Madame Noire back in 2015, the lead actor of “The Devil Wears Prada” musical production shared that they weren’t actively searching for a relationship. Having been single for several years following a divorce, they stumbled upon a local man from Buffalo, New York, and initiated a conversation with him.

In 2015, the couple exchanged their vows in Buffalo, paying tribute to where they first met by donning elegant skirts and tops that flowed smoothly.

Williams, the trailblazing first Black Miss America in 1984, shared with People her awe-inspiring experience: “It was breathtakingly beautiful,” she expressed. “I felt like a regal Egyptian deity embodied that very theme.”

Previously, the “Ugly Betty” actor, who is named Williams, was married to film producer Ramon Hervey II from 1987 until 1997. During this time, they welcomed three children: Devin, Jillian, and Melanie into their family. Later in 1999, Williams exchanged vows with actor and former NBA player Rick Fox. Together, they had one daughter named Sasha Gabriella. Unfortunately, they parted ways and announced their divorce in 2004.
