Vanessa White gives birth: The Saturdays star welcomes a baby boy called Sage with her husband Emmanuel Lawal

Vanessa White and her husband, Emmanuel Lawal, recently welcomed their first child, just a few weeks after getting married.

Singer Rochelle Humes, 35, shared the happy news in November that she is expecting her first child and will be marrying DJ Emmanuel Lawal.

They got married at Hackney Town Hall a month later and are planning a large wedding celebration in Mallorca next summer.

On Tuesday, Vanessa revealed her newborn son’s name on Instagram, sharing adorable photos of him with her followers.

She captioned the post: ‘Our darling boy, Sage Remi-Bisaya Lawal.’

Vanessa’s bandmates from Saturdays were quick to offer their congratulations online. Mollie King wrote a heartfelt message, saying how happy she was for Vanessa and that her partner is lucky to have her as a mother.

Rochelle Humes excitedly commented on the beautiful hair, while Frankie Bridge simply said ‘Congrats!’ and Una Healy offered her congratulations, calling the baby ‘so beautiful’.

The singer shared the exciting news of her engagement and pregnancy in a single social media post in November. Emmanuel proposed just weeks earlier during a weekend getaway to the Cotswolds, and the couple quickly made their relationship official.

She shared a photo with the caption ‘There’s a V and E in love,’ a cute reference to the first letters of her name and Emmanuel’s.

Her social media post received a lot of supportive comments, including messages from her former bandmates in The Saturdays and many other famous friends.

Una Healy and Rochelle Humes both shared congratulatory messages, using heart emojis and writing ‘Congratulations!’ and ‘Congratulations my girl!’ respectively.

Laura Whitmore and Ashley Roberts, a member of the Pussycat Dolls, were among those offering congratulations. Whitmore wrote, ‘Delighted for you! The best!’, and Roberts exclaimed, ‘Omg Ness!!! Congratulations.’

Keisha Buchanan and Mutya from the Sugababes also expressed their happiness, with Keisha writing ‘Omg congratulations beautiful’ and Mutya simply writing ‘Omg congratulations sis’.

Stormzy’s stylist, Melissa Holdbrook-Akposoe (known as Melissa’s Wardrobe on Instagram), wrote a congratulatory message saying, ‘Congratulations!!!’

Vanessa announced in December that she’s expecting a baby boy, and she’s especially thrilled he’ll be able to participate in their future wedding celebration.

‘Knowing that he will be there is the nicest thing,’ she said of him being their pageboy.

The couple officially got married at Hackney Town Hall in December and are planning a larger wedding celebration in Mallorca next summer.

‘Then we realised if we didn’t sort something soon, it wasn’t going to happen.’

Vanessa said finding her wedding dress was stressful, especially because her body had been changing.

It’s funny to think about wedding dresses and what you’ll wear, and I originally pictured myself in a stylish suit for the registry office. But then I got pregnant, and that idea obviously wasn’t going to happen.

As soon as I put on the dress, I knew it was perfect. It was one of those times when everything just felt right.

Vanessa styled her own hair and completed her look with a vintage-style headband by Jennifer Behr and Christian Louboutin shoes. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies.

The singer wore a Norma Kamali dress to dinner at Alex Dilling, inside the Hotel Café Royal, where the chef had closed the restaurant to other diners for a private experience.

Vanessa shared that they had a wonderful, hours-long celebration, complete with a beautiful fig cake as their wedding cake. Later, a chauffeur drove them home in a Bentley at 11 p.m.

I remember hearing last year that Vanessa and Emmanuel actually started dating during the lockdown! Apparently, things moved pretty fast and they became really close really quickly.

Emmanuel shared that his proposal caught Vanessa off guard – she was still in her bathrobe, having just returned from a massage.

Okay, so while Vanessa was getting her massage, I finally went for it! I’d been secretly stashing everything for ages, and I just… I had to. I completely transformed the garden – candles everywhere, lanterns, the works! And of course, I had a bottle of sparkling cider chilling, ready to go. It had to be perfect for her.
