Award-winning actress Vanessa Kirby and her fiancé, Paul Rabil, have become parents! They recently welcomed their first child together.
Vanessa Kirby, 37, known for her role as Princess Margaret in the Netflix series *The Crown*, and her partner Paul, 39, a former lacrosse player now working in sports, have welcomed their first child.
Paul announced the birth over the weekend by sharing sweet family photos on Instagram, giving fans a peek into their life as new parents.
In a touching post, the athlete shared their thoughts on how parenthood changes you, saying it both makes you more mindful and forces you to take things slower.
I’m so thankful for the good health of everyone I love, for the constant love and support of my mum each day, and for having you in our lives. It means the world to us.
He jokingly referenced his lacrosse background, saying, ‘This is your first lacrosse stick – it will be part of many adventures and good times. Expect a few broken windows along the way! And yes, you can bring the balls inside.’

The couple have not yet disclosed the baby’s name or sex.
The photos show sweet, personal moments from their life as a new family. One particularly heartwarming picture features Vanessa lying on her stomach in bed, lovingly looking at their newborn baby.
One photo depicts Paul gently holding his baby, wrapped in a light blue blanket. A separate, closer shot focuses on the baby’s small feet.
The last picture shows two lacrosse sticks, a standard size and a smaller one for kids, representing the baby’s family history with the sport.
The news was met with a flood of congratulatory messages from friends, other athletes, and famous people.
Lucy Hale, known for her role in Pretty Little Liars, reacted to the post with a like, as did many of Paul’s teammates from the Premier Lacrosse League, who expressed their welcome to the newest member of their sports community.
Vanessa, originally from London, became a global star thanks to her complex and captivating performance as Princess Margaret in The Crown. She won a BAFTA Television Award and was also nominated for an Emmy for the role.
Her acclaimed turn in the Netflix series opened doors to Hollywood’s biggest projects.

I’ve been a huge fan of her work for years, and it’s been amazing to watch her career soar! She’s become a true action star, appearing in the latest *Mission: Impossible* film with Tom Cruise – *The Final Reckoning* was incredible! And this year, she finally joined the Marvel universe as the Invisible Woman in *The Fantastic Four: First Steps*, which I absolutely loved. It’s just fantastic to see her taking on such diverse and iconic roles.
In 2021, she was nominated for an Oscar for her powerful and heartbreaking role as a mother dealing with loss in the film Pieces of a Woman.
The actress known for her role in The Crown announced she was expecting a baby by displaying her growing belly at a promotional event for the movie Fantastic Four in June.
Two months later it was evident as she continued her press tour for film.
The announcement of the baby’s birth follows closely after Vanessa’s role as Storm in the movie *The Fantastic Four: First Steps*.
Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, her co-stars, playfully showed their excitement for her soon-to-arrive baby by all placing a hand on her belly at the Sydney film premiere.

Vanessa shared that playing a new mother in the film helped her connect with the feelings of motherhood herself.
When Entertainment Tonight asked her about life mirroring her on-screen role, she explained that it was challenging because her character is essentially a mother balancing work and being a superhero.
For half the film, her character is pregnant and then gives birth. What really struck me is that it showed you can truly balance everything – you can have a fulfilling life and achieve all your goals.
‘She gave me a lot of confidence in that.’

Last December it was reported she was engaged to her boyfriend Paul after two years together.
People first learned about Vanessa and Paul’s relationship in late 2022 when photos surfaced of them holding hands in New York City.
This new romance comes after Vanessa ended her relationship with Callum Turner, the actor known for his role in Fantastic Beasts, who is now engaged to singer Dua Lipa.
Fans were thrilled when they finally confirmed their relationship on Instagram in November 2023 with a shared post.
Paul, a co-founder of the Premier Lacrosse League and a celebrated figure in the sport, shared a heartfelt message: ‘From the moment we met in Des Moines, through all of life’s adventures, you’ve made everything more meaningful and wonderful.’

Life has been incredibly sweet for me and Paul! After two wonderful years together, he actually proposed in December 2024 – I said yes, of course! Now we’re joyfully planning our wedding while also navigating the beautiful chaos of being new parents. It’s a lot, but we couldn’t be happier!
Vanessa and Paul now split their time between London and the US.
Paul ended his professional lacrosse career in 2021 after 23 years as a player, establishing himself as one of the sport’s all-time greats.
He currently leads the Premier Lacrosse League, a league he helped start to transform professional lacrosse in North America.
He was married to Kelly Berger, a former lacrosse player, for three years, ending in 2017. He then dated actress Eliza Gonzalez in 2021.
