Vanessa Feltz admits it’s ‘impossible and agonising to find a decent bloke’ but is still hopeful she’ll find love again as her ex-fiancé Ben Ofoedu prepares to tie the knot with Vanessa Brown

Despite acknowledging the challenging dating landscape as a “desert,” Vanessa Feltz expresses optimism about rediscovering love in the future.

The television host, who is 63 years old, had been in a relationship with singer Ben Ofoedu, aged 52, for 16 years, and they were planning to get married. However, rumors of his unfaithfulness surfaced in the media in 2023.

Last year saw a brief, clandestine romantic encounter for Vanessa, but since then, she’s remained unattached. Now, she openly expresses that finding a new partner is both challenging and painful for her.

Discussing Jennifer Aniston’s recent romance with charming hypnotist Jim Curtis, the broadcaster expressed a sense of optimism, stating that it served as an inspiring example for her to believe that she too could find love once more.

Last week, it was exclusively reported by DailyMail.com that Jennifer, aged 56, enjoyed the Fourth of July weekend with life coach Jim, who is 49 years old. Photos suggest that the pair were affectionately known as they were spotted together on a yacht.

In her recent article for the Daily Express, Vanessa explored the fresh joy experienced by an actress who has been through two divorces, expressing her regrets that finding a companion can be so challenging for women beyond the age of 45.

Finding a good man these days is extremely challenging, almost impossible, and incredibly painful. The dating apps aren’t much help. It feels like a barren wasteland out there.

In simpler terms, I dislike expressing this complaint, but it’s undeniable that as we grow older, it becomes quite challenging to find a genuine partner who can reciprocate affection.

If it’s true that Jen found her own version of Mr. Darcy, she’ll certainly brighten our hopes. Keep shining, Jen!

Last month, I confess that I can’t help but yearn for companionship, much like my beloved friend and regular panelist on Loose Women, Linda Robson, who embraces the joy of living single to the fullest.

In addition, she disclosed a short-lived romance from the previous year that she managed to keep private. However, since then, she’s been single and solo all along.

She shared with Entertainment Daily, “Last year, I was in a relationship that remained hidden from others. It lasted around four and a half to five months. Apart from that brief period, I’ve been single both before and since then.

She stated, “‘I’m not content being alone; I dislike it. I wish to emulate my friend, Linda Robson, who says something like: ‘I recognize that I don’t require a man. I’m not attracted. They bring more problems than they’re worth.'”‘

In the past, Vanessa was married to her former spouse Michael from 1983 up until their divorce in 2000. They have two adult daughters together, Allegra (aged 38) and Saskia (aged 35).

Initially, she had planned to marry Ben, a former member of Phats & Small, for the second time. However, her happiness turned into heartbreak when she uncovered his acts of infidelity.

Previously, she shared that she jumped out of a speeding taxi as soon as he admitted infidelity, unable to endure any more of his words.

During the interview, she shared that her coat had been ripped. There was bleeding from a wound on her arm. She thought he might pull over the taxi to check if she was still alive after the jump, but he didn’t.

Instead, following their split, Ben shared with TopMob his belief that the author didn’t seem keen on formalizing their relationship. He suggested that the decade-long age difference between them stirred up feelings of insecurity.

Last year in February, he asserted that Vanessa remained with him primarily to make herself feel more youthful, expressing his feelings as follows: ‘For a fourth of my life, I dedicated myself to someone, yet I received no returns… It’s utterly devastating.’

‘I met Vanessa when I was 34 and I lived 17 years in her life and it was all what she wanted.’  

He shared that he was deeply in love, but it seemed as though she was merely keeping him on a leash for some arm adornment, while he yearned for a lifelong commitment and children, seeking genuine affection instead.

To her, I seemed like merely a useful resource. I was more of a trendy, youthful accessory that made her look younger.

In a conversation with Liam Tuffs on The Dozen podcast in April, Ben asserted that his friends and relatives informed him of Vanessa’s alleged infidelity towards him.

He claimed: ‘During the initial six years, she performed exceptionally well. However, there’s something about her that makes men feel emasculated. When she’s had alcohol, she becomes quite assertive and aggressive.’

Can you picture how she might behave when no one’s watching, considering her past loud reprimands, her critical comments about me, and her interactions with me?

Ben asserted that his entire persona underwent a transformation during his relationship with Vanessa.

He mentioned: ‘I overlooked a few instances, I was informed on two separate occasions that she had been untrue to me, by relatives and her closest confidante.’

I’m nothing like the stereotypical ‘lover-in-disguise,’ I’m actually quite the opposite.

In February, it was revealed that Ben had become engaged to Vanessa Brown, who is 29 years old, following only a month together as a couple.

During a vacation in New York, he unexpectedly proposed to her in Central Park, right before Valentine’s Day, by getting down on one knee.
