I was so impressed when I saw Vanessa Feltz‘s latest Instagram post! She looked absolutely fantastic and shared that she’s lost a whole two stone – she’s really glowing and seems so happy and healthy!
I’ve been following her for years, and it’s always been so refreshing how open she is about her weight struggles. Over the past thirty years, she’s really gone up and down – I’ve seen her at a size 10 and a size 22 – and she’s never shied away from talking about it. It’s honestly inspiring to see someone be so real.
Vanessa beamed at her reflection, clearly thrilled with how she looked, and struck a pose for a photo.
I absolutely loved her outfit in that picture! She was wearing this gorgeous, fitted maxi dress with a beautiful pink and purple floral pattern. It even came with a matching scarf, and the skirt was so flowy and ruffled – it was just perfect!
The TV presenter put on a pair of thick, tan wedge shoes and finished her look with gold bracelets and earrings.

Vanessa lost a significant amount of weight, going from a size 22 to a size 10 between 1999 and 2000, but she later regained some of it.
She lost weight twice, dropping two stone in 2004 and three stone in 2007, but unfortunately regained it both times, eventually returning to a size 22.
I remember when she decided to get a gastric band fitted back in 2010. It was supposed to help her eat less by making her stomach smaller, and for a while, it did! But sadly, she ran into some really tough complications – the band actually got stuck and embedded itself in her liver. It was a scary time, and she had to deal with a lot.
After getting a gastric band, Vanessa had to change how she ate. She couldn’t eat much solid food, but she could still enjoy softer foods like ice cream.
The reality TV star admitted to overeating – consuming what she described as ‘thousands of calories’ – and intentionally disrupted the surgery she had paid for.
She eventually chose to have gastric bypass surgery in 2019. This procedure creates a small pouch in the stomach and connects it directly to the small intestine, effectively bypassing most of the stomach. This helps people eat less food and feel full more quickly.
The procedure led to her losing a further five stone and she has maintained a slender frame since.
Vanessa has shared that her struggles with yo-yo dieting began when her mother, Valerie, pressured her to take dangerous diet pills at age 20 in an attempt to lose weight.

In her memoir Vanessa Bares All, the TV personality delved deep into her childhood trauma.
She shared that her struggles with weight started at age nine when she was placed on a highly restrictive diet.
Vanessa explained that her mother restricted her food, causing her to frequently feel hungry, because her mother was worried about her gaining weight.
She explained that by the time she turned twenty, her mother, Valerie, had started getting her diet pills through her hairdresser.
Even though I was feeling unwell, I lost a lot of weight quickly. I was able to fit into a size 8, and my hip bones became very prominent – I was dangerously thin, with my bones clearly visible under my skin.
I wasn’t naturally thin, but I desperately wanted to be – painfully, even. I dreamed of being so slender I’d almost be too skinny, and for a while, I achieved it. I ended up looking frighteningly thin, like a starved baby animal, and it was everything I’d ever wished for.
Vanessa recalls a childhood dinner where she was made to eat grapefruit while everyone else enjoyed soup.
Reflecting on her life, Vanessa felt like she was being punished, though she couldn’t understand why she deserved it.
