The Ayakashi bundle is starting VALORANT’s 2026 season with new skins inspired by Japanese folklore, and it also includes unique custom sound effects.
The Ayakashi bundle launches the VALORANT 2026 season with a look into Japanese mythology. This collection reimagines traditional Japanese folklore with a modern style, featuring creatures and spirits from classic scary stories.
Ayakashi bundle
Yoru, the only Japanese agent, is giving us an exclusive first look at the Ayakashi collection! This bundle is full of dark, mystical energy and introduces a brand new weapon pairing: dual short katanas. Each skin in the collection has four color options: the standard look, plus red, pink, and blue. Just a heads up – there isn’t a skin for the Bandit weapon in this release.
Here is everything coming in the new Ayakashi bundle:
- Kogitsune (dual short katana melee)
- Phantom
- Ghost
- 1 Gun Buddy
- 1 Player Card
- 1 Spray
You can now watch the official trailer for the VALORANT X collection on the official VALORANT X page to see all the new weapon skins in action.
What’s new?
Okay, as a VALORANT player, I’m really excited about the new Ayakashi katana! It’s the first time we’ve seen a dual short katana as a melee weapon, which is awesome. But what really stands out are the animations – everything from drawing it to attacking, even just standing around, incorporates musical instruments! They’ve completely revamped the feel of the melee with these new animations, and it looks fantastic.
The game features unique firing sounds for each weapon, with each bullet creating a different note, letting players essentially ‘play’ a melody while shooting. The muzzle flash effects are also custom-designed for each weapon.
Custom animations
- Custom equip animations on the Ghost and Phantom gun materialize from the smoke form
- Custom reload animation — the gun turns to smoke form and re-materializes when the magazine is re-inserted
- Custom inspect showcases music (Japanese-influenced trap beat) and VFX
Reactive visual effects
- Fire VFX on guns that react to directionality (flames move according to player movement)
- Kitsune mask eyes glow, matching flames
Finisher
- The Ayakashi finisher depicts a clash between two worlds, centered on a Kitsune mask and flowing tails, set against a luminous moon with reflections shimmering across the foreground
- Custom kill banner icon with custom audio
Ayakashi bundle release
The new collection launches on January 7th and will cost 7,160 VP. It’s coming with the start of VALORANT’s 2026 Season Act I, which features updates to maps, a new weapon, a new Battle Pass, and other improvements. Be sure to read the full details in VALORANT patch 12.00.
