Riot Games has unveiled Waylay, the newest character for Valorant, who hails from Thailand and is a “radiant prismatic” entity. With her ability to turn into light, she zips swiftly across the battlefield, taking down targets before quickly vanishing back to safety.
Waylay’s unique ability ‘Refract’ allows her to instantly generate a luminescent mark on the ground. When she employs her ‘Reactivate’ skill, she is transported back to this mark, becoming an indestructible speck of radiant energy. Additionally, her ‘Light Speed’ talent propels her swiftly forward and upward in a quick burst.
‘Saturate’ has Waylay launching a swarm of luminescent explosives that temporarily decreases the agility and attack rate of adversaries. On the other hand, ‘Convergent Paths’ channels Waylay’s prismatic energy into a beam of light, providing a temporary speed enhancement after a short pause. However, as the beam spreads, it starts to impede players in the affected zone.
2025 Season II Act II of Valorant kicks off on March 5th, introducing the map Waylay and a fresh Cyrax collection that includes melee skins for Vandal, Ghost, Guardian, Stinger, and Fanblade. A brand-new Battlepass will also be available, offering goods such as the Tactibear Flex, Byteshift Ghost, Sloth Tactics Buddy, Doom Wing Phantom, and Heartless Card.
