Valerie Bertinelli’s Bold Lingerie Selfie: Celebrating 65 & Moving On

On Wednesday, Valerie Bertinelli posted an uncommon photo from the past, featuring her wearing lingerie, on Instagram.

The actress from Hot in Cleveland was wearing a black bra and panties that coordinated, momentarily revealing her toned stomach. Impressively, she boasted well-defined abs and a slim waist.

On the Drew Barrymore Show, she displayed her toned arms as well, and she wore her hair naturally down around her shoulders, opting for a bare-faced look without any makeup.

She took a selfie in the bathroom of a New York City hotel in December, holding up a box of hair dye just before dying her roots in the dark.

The ex of Eddie Van Halen was celebrating becoming a senior citizen.

8pm on April 23rd, 1960, in Wilmington, Delaware, with a Taurus sun, Aries moon, and a Scorpio ascendant, was the starting point for her caption.

Initially, when she posted the lingerie picture in December, her caption reflected her typical bold frankness and casual wit.

She shared with her audience that at some time, she’ll discuss the ordeals her body has faced this year.

Currently, each imperfection, like lumps, bumps, wrinkles, and sagging areas, I find myself embracing with a sense of acceptance and gratitude. It’s a special moment for me, standing before a mirror in a downtown Manhattan hotel bathroom, preparing to touch up my roots on a Monday evening.

Bertinelli has been busy these days.

She is working with friend Drew Barrymore on her talk show in NYC.

Valerie is also getting over her split from lifestyle writer Mike Goodnough, 53.

They broke up in early November after 10 months of dating. He is 10 years younger than Valerie. 

Once more, Goodnough voiced his thoughts on their former romance – this time shortly following the removal of a social media post where he critiqued the actress over her disclosure about their split.

Despite the fact that their relationship concluded several months back, Goodnought still shares comments about it through social media platforms.

A few days ago, he shared on Instagram that he wouldn’t be involved in a verbal dispute with his former partner. However, he did allege that she had made unwarranted, dishonest, and unfriendly remarks against him.

Later on, he removed the initial post and put up a fresh one, expressing thoughts about the split. In this new post, he mentioned that he’s had enough tears over it and is now focusing on moving forward.

On Sunday, I found myself once again captivated by Goodnough’s insights – this time on Threads. A comment had sparked my curiosity, hinting at the possibility that Bertinelli may have called it quits. However, Goodnough gracefully addressed the speculation with his unique perspective.

‘I ended the relationship,’ he wrote, adding, ‘You tried though. You really tried.’

In response to Goodnough’s Instagram post in April, it seems as though he may have taken a subtle jab at Bertinelli. He wrote, “Regrettably, over the past two months, Valerie has found herself frequently engaging in what appears to be a solo tennis game, believing there is an opponent on the other side of the net.

He further charged her with misconstruing his messages, stating, “In that location, she interprets every one of my posts, makes herself the focus, finds fictional insults in them, gets upset, and then reacts angrily with a response to matters that were neither directed towards nor concerning her.

The result, he claimed, was a false narrative of an ongoing feud. 

To those who follow us, our actions might give the impression of a ping-pong dynamic. However, let me clarify, we do not operate in such a manner.

Despite the pointed remarks, Goodnough insisted he still cares for Bertinelli. 

Reflecting on their past, he shared a bittersweet memory. 

A little over a year back, Valerie and I shared an incredibly happy time during the release of her book. That week remains among the most memorable in my life.

In April 2024, Bertinelli stated that she couldn’t solely attribute the toxic and awful nature of her marriage to her former husband Tom Vitale.

The actress acknowledges that Vitale wasn’t entirely responsible for their failed marriage.

On The Drew Barrymore Show, Valerie clarified that she wouldn’t solely place the blame for a poisonous and terrible marriage on her ex-spouse. Instead, she emphasized that it wasn’t entirely his responsibility.

‘What led me to that? Oh, childhood! That’s the stuff I got to start working on.

It seems that I’ve discovered a pattern – it’s during difficult or trying moments when I truly appreciate things that I find myself growing most significantly.

Valerie explained that she’s still working through her own childhood trauma.

The actress acknowledges that her troubled past continues to influence her life.
