Valerie Bertinelli, 65, poses nude on Getting Naked book cover as she promises to dish on ‘love and secrets’

Valerie Bertinelli, 65, has posed nude on the cover of her new book which comes out next year.

The celebrity revealed the striking book cover on her Instagram page, offering followers a sneak peek at the book’s themes.

The Drew Barrymore Show star said she will ‘explore aging, love, secrets.’

She shared a lengthy and emotional message with the reveal of her new book’s cover: ‘I’m incredibly excited and happy (and perhaps a little bit nervous!) to finally show you all the cover for GETTING NAKED 🥹’

This feels like laying my heart bare. It’s a series of deeply personal and honest essays that delve into topics like getting older, love, friendships, hidden truths, and learning to accept things as they are.

Bertinelli explained that she hadn’t fully understood how important writing this book would be until she began the process: ‘It really helped me heal in a way I don’t think would have been possible otherwise. Writing it was crucial for my recovery.

I sincerely hope this encourages you to challenge negative self-talk, prioritize your own well-being, and release any self-criticism or negativity others might try to impose on you.

She also shared that the book will be released on March 10, 2026, and you can pre-order it now. ‘Link in bio’ she added, ‘I hope you enjoy it. And I hope it helps with healing too 🩵.’

This striking brunette has led a fascinating life, with many experiences to share. She began her career acting in television shows during her twenties, then married rock legend Eddie Van Halen. Later, she divorced Tom Vitale, and pursued her passion for cooking by writing cookbooks. Currently, she’s collaborating with Drew Barrymore on a new project.

This comes months after her painful split from Mike Goodnough.

In the spring, he accused the One Day At A Time actress of subtly criticizing him, reportedly about six months after they ended their relationship.

The situation began when the 54-year-old writer used Instagram to respond to rumors that he and the actress were exchanging veiled insults through puzzling posts. He addressed the speculation directly, clarifying the situation. This happened after people noticed what seemed to be a subtle war of words, expressed through cryptic posts on social media. More details are available here.

‘That’s simply not true,’ Goodnough started in his detailed caption. ‘I’ve never used social media to try and get in touch with someone I already know and can easily contact through other means.’

He firmly reiterated that he wasn’t responding to Bertinelli, explaining, ‘I am not communicating with Valerie via my posts.

‘I am not engaging with the things she posts.’

The situation became even more painful when Goodnough, who had been dating Bertinelli for 10 months, claimed she publicly embarrassed him online.

Despite being upset by the constant, unfair, and unnecessary criticisms she levels against me, I want to make it clear that I don’t consider this a feud,” he stated. He added that there is no conflict between them.

‘She just won’t stop shooting. Valerie is in a war with her ghosts.

‘I’m just the guy who catches the bullets. And that isn’t new,’ he added.

Earlier in his honest post, Goodnough seemed to indirectly criticize Bertinelli, writing, ‘Unfortunately, over the past two months, Valerie has been prone to lapsing into a place where she has been playing a one-woman tennis match thinking there is someone on the other side of the net.

He further accused her of misunderstanding what he said, explaining, ‘When she sees my posts, she fixates on them, finds offense in things I didn’t intend, and then reacts with anger in a response – even when the posts weren’t directed at or about her.’

He stated that the outcome was a misleading story about a continuing disagreement. ‘This conduct, among those who know both of us, has given the perception of a back-and-forth exchange. However, that’s not the case,’ he explained.

Even though he made some critical comments, Goodnough emphasized that he still has affection for Bertinelli. ‘I care about Valerie,’ he stated. ‘ I have love for her and always will. Her happiness is what I want, and seeing her happy would make me very joyful.’
