As a dedicated follower of celebrity news and someone who appreciates the journey of these public figures, I find it both intriguing and somewhat heartbreaking to see Valerie Bertinelli and Mike Goodnough part ways after only 10 months together. Having followed Valerie’s career since her days on One Day at a Time and later Food Network, I have always admired her strength, resilience, and her ability to reinvent herself time and again.

Valerie Bertinelli has split from her boyfriend Mike Goodnough.

For approximately ten months, the former star of Food Network, now aged 64, and the author, currently 54 years old, were involved in a romantic relationship. However, as reported by People magazine on Tuesday, their bond has ended.

In January 2024, the pair crossed paths on Instagram initially without romantic intentions. However, as time went by, they grew closer due to a sense of familiarity and an established comfort level between them.

In April 2024, they made their relationship public on Instagram, and exactly two months later, they walked their first red carpet event together.

The actress told People in July that being a long-distance couple was ‘challenging.’ 

When she first went public with the romance, she explained the attraction.

She commented, “His voice had an exceptionally appealing tone. I found myself thinking, ‘I’m not quite ready to converse with him at the moment, as it’s rather appealing.’

‘We both had strong feelings, trying not to admit them,’ she added.

They went public in April.

I am currently dating Valerie Bertinelli, which is quite an extraordinary thing for me to say.

‘But it’s true… and nothing about our actual relationship seems surreal. It just seems… good… lucky… a gift,’ he wrote on his Substack called Hoarse Whisperings.

They went red carpet official in June at the Daytime Emmys.

Bertinelli opened up about her romance in an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in April.

Speaking about someone without revealing his name, the Hot in Cleveland star expressed surprise by saying, “I wasn’t expecting him to enter my world, yet here he is. He’s a decade younger than me.

According to Bertinelli, he may come off as complex and melancholic, but beneath that facade lies a deep sense of thoughtfulness, kindness, and an extraordinary level of talent.

She expressed her admiration by saying, “He’s a fantastic author. He’s incredibly attractive, almost captivatingly so. His writing resonates deeply with me. We each have our preferences, and for me, he fits that bill perfectly.

She now has a permanent job on Drew’s show.
