Val Kilmer’s ex-girlfriend Ellen Barkin emerges in NYC three months after his death at 65

Ellen Barkin was spotted walking her dog in New York City on Wednesday.

In a stylish ensemble, the 71-year-old actress donned a white linen button-up top over a black camisole, teaming it with blue denims and white trainers.

She wore round, black sunglasses and her wispy, white, bob haircut was tucked behind her ears.

The award-winning celebrity adorned herself with two necklaces; one bore half of a ‘best friend’ locket, while the other featured a pendant representing a Jewish star.

Three months ago, Val Kilmer, who was her boyfriend in the 1980s, passed away at the age of 65 due to pneumonia complications after his struggle with throat cancer.

Val fondly looked back on his relationship with Ellen in his 2020 memoir I’m Your Huckleberry.

He penned down his thoughts on his past love: ‘Ellen’s smile was the most radiant across all five boroughs. I vividly recall her sharp wit, her captivating eyes, yet it was her laughter that stands out the most in my memory.’

Not only her, but also her hair – so soft and feminine. Should you ever find yourself in a position where Ellen would consent, the simple act of gently touching her hair would make it all worthwhile, given the look she’d give you afterwards.

1984 saw a romance bloom between the beauty hailing from the Bronx and the popular Hollywood heartthrob. This relationship was characterized by spending afternoons browsing Rodeo Drive, followed by evenings grilling together.

Kilmer referred to her as one of the bewitching women who escaped, likely because of my overwhelming distractions and negligence.

She has gained significant recognition for her performances in films such as Diner (1982), The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai in the Eighth Dimension (1984), New Orleans-set drama The Big Easy (1986), and Down by Law (1986).

Additionally, her resume includes the films Sea of Love (1989), Switch (1991), The Fan (1996), Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999), and Ocean’s Thirteen (2007).

or more informally:

She’s also got Sea of Love (1989), Switch (1991), The Fan (1996), Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999), and Ocean’s Thirteen (2007) on her list of movies she’s worked in.

In 2014, Kilmer received a diagnosis of throat cancer and subsequently underwent a tracheotomy, a procedure that affected his capacity to talk. However, he was eventually pronounced cancer-free.

Following the passing of their remarkable father, Val’s children, Mercedes and Jack, publicly acknowledged their appreciation towards everyone remembering him in such a special way.

His children, who he had with Joanne Whalley, expressed their immense pride and honor in him as they witness his legacy being honored. For now, they prefer to mourn their loss privately.

One of Val’s most recognizable roles was Iceman in the 1986 hit movie Top Gun.

In 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick, he came back for a short time, despite having a permanently damaged voice, and took up his role once more alongside Tom Cruise.

It was his last big screen appearance.
