v1c on winning the Red Bull Home Ground NA Qualifier and joining Cloud9

As a gamer with years of VALORANT experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement when I see v1c’s journey to Cloud9. The Red Bull Home Ground NA Qualifier was more than just a tournament for him; it was a stepping stone towards the big leagues.

Recently, esports.gg had a chance to interview the newly signed Cloud9 player, v1c, following his victory at the North American Red Bull Home Ground Qualifier.

The Red Bull Home Ground marked a fantastic beginning to the VALORANT OFF-SEASON, and now we’re seeing teams preparing for competition next year. A fresh face joining the fray is Victor “v1c” Truong on Cloud9. He was officially integrated into the team following their victory in the Home Ground NA Qualifier.

As an ardent fan, I seized the chance to pose some queries to v1c following his triumphant performance in the Qualifier, propelling Cloud9 into the World Final in Berlin. It’s worth mentioning that these questions were posed prior to Cloud9 officially announcing him as a full-fledged team member, but the responses came flowing in right after.

Cloud9’s newest member, v1c, talks about winning the Red Bull Home Ground NA Qualifier

First off, you went against MxS. What was it like facing your team as a stand-in for Cloud9?

v2c: “I enjoyed the game immensely, as it was a refreshing change to find myself playing against my friend Wippie this time around, unlike last year. The whole scenario turned out to be quite amusing when considered from start to finish.

Were my adrenaline levels pumped up, wanting to excel against them? Did I throw in a bit more friendly banter since they were my opponents?

“To be honest, the entire event turned out to be quite enjoyable. My main goal was to support Cloud9 in any way possible, and I wasn’t particularly concerned about who my opponents were. Nevertheless, their cheers added an extra layer of excitement to the match.

“The Grand Final was between Cloud9 and Sentinels. The majority of the spectators seemed to support Sentinels. Even though they had substitute players, they were widely expected to win the qualifier. Did the crowd’s cheers for Sentinels affect you at all?

“You’re correct that keeping your attention on the game itself can help maintain focus. The fans were generally well-behaved, and I didn’t notice them intentionally disrupting our experience except for a handful of instances. I truly valued this consideration.

As a fan, I must say, your performance was impressive against them! Was this competition somehow special for you, a chance to demonstrate that you can hold your own among the top VCT teams and players?

In truth, I believe I didn’t perform optimally since the tournament coincided with the off-season. However, it provided an excellent platform for me to demonstrate just how much potential I have.

What would you say was your own personal standout moment from that Grand Final?

In the second half of the game on Lotus, I attribute our resurgence to OXY and his talent for providing strong encouragement to the team, regardless of the high levels of tension during the match.

Regarding the final match of Red Bull Home Ground towards the end of the year, is the roster already set? Can I definitively say that I’ll be participating with Cloud9 in this event?

“At the point when this interview is published, it’ll be clear that I am an essential member of the C9 lineup for 2025. I’m profoundly appreciative and joyful to be a piece of Cloud9 and have my opportunity in the VCT establishment. I trust we can utilize this occasion to energize the fans for the 2025 season and show them how solid a group we will be.
