V/H/S/BEYOND teaser shows off terrifying segments from Justin Long, Kate Siegel, and more

As a seasoned horror enthusiast with a penchant for the macabre and a soft spot for the found footage genre, I can’t help but feel a surge of anticipation at the prospect of V/H/S/Beyond hitting our screens this October. The teaser alone, with its tantalizing glimpses of chaos, UFOs, and SWAT team invasions, has me hooked.

This October marks the release of the seventh film in the widely acclaimed “V/H/S” horror series captured on video, and Shudder has unveiled its initial teaser trailer. The tapes within this collection are created by renowned horror figures such as Justin Long, Kate Siegel, Mike Flanagan, among others, making “Shudder’s V/H/S/Beyond” one of the most eagerly awaited horror films of the autumn season.

The specifics of the plot have been deliberately sparse, but it’s clear that there are six distinct stories playing out in the film. In the “Stowaway” segment, Katie Siegel and her husband, John Flanagan, collaborated on the project with Katie directing a screenplay written by John.

Other segments feature “Stork,” created by Jordan Downey and Kevin Stewart; “Fur Babies,” produced by Christian Long and Justin Long; the underwater adventure titled “Live and Let Dive” from Ben Turner and Justin Martinez, and “Dream Girl” written and directed by Virat Pal and Evan Dickson. Additionally, the Canadian filmmaker Jay Cheel contributes a segment titled “A Special Presentation.”

The clip included with the teaser presents a variety of extraordinary events, such as an operation that appears to be a SWAT team storming a residence, a failed ritual, unidentified flying objects in the sky, gunfights, an airplane accident, and much more.

We’re familiar with the plot of one of the segments titled “Live and Let Dive.” Previously, Director Justin Martinez discussed this with Collider. The clips in the trailer suggesting a plane appear to be from his story segment. This story revolves around a group of novice skydivers who find themselves in a life-threatening situation when their aircraft collides mid-air with an unidentified flying object, causing them to freefall towards the ground.

The article states that this particular segment is expected to be one of the franchise’s most daring productions, combining real skydiving and gruesome special effects with scenes of plane crashes and extraterrestrial imagery.

Following its premiere at Fantastic Fest in September, the movie titled V/H/S/Beyond will start streaming on Shudder from October 4th.
