In the United Kingdom, the British show “Trying” has now moved to a new free-to-stream platform, transitioning from requiring a paid subscription, but still available with a valid television license.
The comedy revolves around the duo, Nikki and Jason, portrayed by Esther Smith and Rafe Spall, as they opt for adoption after facing difficulties in conceiving a child the traditional way.
In addition to our primary pairing, who are a real-life couple, the series also features Sian Brooke from Doctor Foster, Darren Boyd from The Salisbury Poisoning, Imelda Staunton from The Crown, Cush Jumbo from The Good Wife, and Navin Chowdhry from EastEnders.

Under the fresh agreement between Apple and the BBC, the initial three seasons are scheduled to air on BBC One and iPlayer, starting with Season 1 debuting in early September.
According to reports by Deadline, the BBC has the opportunity to acquire Season 4, which includes a significant time leap, as well as Season 5, which was recently given the go-ahead.

So far, Trying has been widely praised, earning a 95% approval rating from critics over its four seasons on Rotten Tomatoes. In addition, it has garnered a 91% positive feedback from viewers as well.
On IMDb, it has a somewhat lower rating of 8 out of 10, but user comments continue to describe it as “entirely endearing,” “heartwarming with a good dose of humor,” and “authentic” in its portrayal of the highs and lows of adoption.
Multiple reviews have stated that season 4 is a let down compared to the first three, however.

This development aligns with a growing pattern where established UK television networks and emerging streaming behemoths are expanding the amount of content they distribute across their platforms.
Excitingly, I’ve learned that ITVX and Disney+ have joined forces! Now, you can find a delightful ‘Taste of’ collection within each service, featuring a continually updated assortment of shows and movies from the other platform. This collaboration is sure to expand our entertainment horizons!
Additionally, ITVX has introduced an original Apple TV+ series, while the BBC’s “Normal People” has been added to Disney+, a platform that also offers content like “Merlin” and Channel 4 shows such as “Peep Show” and “The IT Crowd.
Trying comes to BBC One and iPlayer in September.
