US Viewers Go Wild for Married At First Sight Australia
Despite not airing in the U.S., Married At First Sight Australia has gained significant popularity among American viewers, demonstrating strong appeal across the ocean.
Enthusiast of Married at First Sight, Kassandra Mcinnes, garnered appreciation as she expressed on Facebook that the Australian edition surpasses its U.S. counterpart.
‘If you like Married At First Sight, the Australian season just started and it’s on 5 nights a week,’ she wrote on popular Facebook page LORT! Love of Reality TV (SPOILER ALERT).
‘100x better then the American one! You won’t regret it!’ she finished off the post.
Fans of the beloved Aussie series poured into the comments section to praise the Channel Nine series.
One individual commented, “I absolutely love it and can’t get enough,” as another praised it by saying, “It never disappoints.

‘Very little resemblance to the U.S. version. So much better!’ another added.
Others thanked the fellow reality TV mega fan for giving them more couch content and reigniting their MAFS screen time.
‘Omg thank you for this. I was craving more Married At First Sight, this is great,’ one person wrote, while another chimed in: ‘I wanna watch tooooo.’
Nevertheless, even though American audiences are captivated by the Australian reality series, they are unable to view it within their region yet.
2022 saw an unexpected decision by Married at First Sight Australia’s U.S. broadcast partner to abruptly cease airing the show, leaving longtime American fans of the series stunned and disappointed.
In 2020, Lifetime cable channel acquired the rights to broadcast the Australian show Married at First Sight (MAFS) and began airing it weekly, with an estimated 300,000 viewers tuning in each week. The US version of the show is also aired on this channel.
However, instead of watching the anticipated ninth season of the show, viewers found a different program airing during its regular time on MAFS.
No explanation was given for why the show was no longer airing on the main channel.
Lifetime’s Instagram post indicates that fans can keep enjoying the show by streaming it via Lifetime’s own app.

The move is strange given that MAFS was performing well in its Wednesday 10/9pm time slot.
A large number of people took to social media to voice their disapproval of the decision, with several claiming that Lifetime was employing underhanded methods to make viewers install the streaming application instead.
Some people have mentioned that they exclusively watch Married at First Sight Australia on Lifetime, but due to this, they plan to discontinue their subscription to the entire channel.
Frankly speaking, I was among the many disheartened fans who found ourselves left hanging when our beloved reality show was abruptly taken off-air midway through its season.
astonished, a viewer expressed disbelief over Lifetime removing MAFS Australia from their traditional cable TV during the ongoing season, stating that they intensely dislike streaming services. They simply want regular television.
‘A lifetime is passing by, filled with fluff instead of revealing the next episode of Married At First Sight Australia,’ another person commented.
