Upcoming Marvel Project To Debut a Hero Who Is a Living Portal

Someone familiar with Marvel’s plans has shared some initial information about a new project. According to this source, Marvel might be introducing a surprising character from the comics into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They suggest this character will have unusual abilities and that the story will delve into a more complex and shadowy side of the Marvel world.

Marvel hero Doorman could debut in an upcoming Marvel project

A user named MyTimeToShineHello posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the Marvel superhero Doorman will be appearing in a future Marvel project. While Marvel hasn’t officially said which project it will be, fans online are guessing it could be either Wonder Man or Avengers: Doomsday.

Doorman, whose real name is DeMarr Davis, was created by John Byrne and first appeared in West Coast Avengers #46 in March 1989. He’s a mutant with the ability to teleport people through solid objects by essentially becoming a doorway to the Darkforce Dimension. Later, the powerful being known as Oblivion turned him into its “Angel of Death,” giving him new abilities like flying, becoming invulnerable, and sensing when someone is about to die.

The Marvel Comics character Doorman is known for blending comedic moments with serious, even tragic, storylines. He initially died battling the villain Maelstrom, but was brought back to life by the being Oblivion. After being resurrected, Doorman took on the role of guiding souls through the transition between life and death. His unique powers – including teleportation using Darkforce energy, the ability to become intangible, and a heightened cosmic awareness – allow him to see those traveling between these realms.

This character is a member of the Great Lakes Initiative, a superhero team officially recognized by the government and located in Wisconsin. The team previously registered with the Superhuman Registration Act. They’ve collaborated with heroes like Mr. Immortal, Flatman, Big Bertha, and Squirrel Girl in various comic book storylines.

If brought to the screen, the Doorman character’s connection to the Darkforce could connect to existing stories within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His abilities are related to those of Cloak & Dagger, Doctor Strange, and Monica Rambeau, as they all draw power from the same enigmatic energy dimension.

Marvel Studios has not officially commented on or confirmed the report.
