2018 finalist of The Voice Australia, Aydan Calafiore, is also a key player in an exhilarating drama series.
As a dedicated admirer, I can’t help but express my excitement over this groundbreaking series penned by a talented squad of queer authors. It’s not just television; it’s a bold, unfiltered exploration into the heart of gay teenage life, offering an authenticity that resonates deeply within me.
It looks to shed some light on aspects of sexuality often overlooked in mainstream narratives.
The show looks to perfectly capture the essence of Sheppard’s celebrated 2019 novel.
The series, which is television-created by award-winning director Nicholas Verso (Nowhere Boys), is jointly penned by him and an accomplished writing team.
The writing team is made up of Allan Clarke, a recipient of the Walkley Award; Holden Sheppard; and Declan Grene, who serves as the Artistic Director for Griffin Theatre.
The production of this show is handled by Tania Chambers OAM from Feisty Dame Productions and Verso at Asphodel Films. It’s been made possible with the help of Screen Australia, Stan, Screenwest, Lotterywest, and the Western Australian Regional Screen Fund.
Chambers indicated that viewers will encounter a frank portrayal of certain difficult problems confronting contemporary Australian teens.
In the series, it’s essential to not just keep things entertaining, but also tackle important topics as well, is what Chambers emphasized.
In an effort to make our stories resonate and provide valuable insights, we’ve decided to include narratives that reflect the high rates of suicide and mental health issues among young men, particularly those in agricultural and rural areas.
Appears ideal for enthusiasts of other teen dramas on Stan, like Bad Behaviour and The Year, to enjoy.
All ten episodes of Invisible Boys will premiere on Thursday, February 13, only on Stan.
