NetEase Games and Shueisha Games have announced that their tactical RPG, unVEIL the world, will be shutting down on May 31, 2026. The game will be closing less than a year after it was first released, according to an official announcement.

unVEIL the world had an interesting premise that failed to attract audiences

unVEIL, a mobile tactical RPG, didn’t last very long. It was first revealed in September 2022, and a closed beta test was held for Android and iOS users in November 2024. Pre-registration opened in August 2025, leading people to believe it would be released worldwide, but it only launched in Japan.

The game centers on a huge, mysterious tower that links different worlds, rumored to contain incredible treasures at the top. It tells the story of a group of boys traveling to reach this place, known as “Eden,” and combines adventure with a visual style inspired by manga. The game appeared to be quite a large undertaking.

Although there was initial excitement, the game didn’t maintain popularity over time. Player engagement was low, and many were even surprised to discover the game existed, even after it was announced. These factors likely contributed to the decision to shut it down so soon.

After the game closes, players who have unused Eden Light Crystals they purchased will be able to get their money back. You can request a refund between June 1st and August 31st, 2026, and choose to receive it either through a direct deposit to your bank account or as a refund through your Google account.

We stopped allowing new accounts on March 31, 2026, and you can’t buy any more in-game currency. But you can still download and play the game from your app store. We’ll let you know when the servers are officially shut down, but until then, enjoy!
