Unsolved Mysteries vol. 5 to feature ‘most baffling mystery’ of them all teases co-creator
As a die-hard fan with over three decades of binge-watching under my belt, I can confidently say that the latest news about Unsolved Mysteries is nothing short of exhilarating! With Volume 5 set to drop close to Halloween, I’m already planning my coziest blanket and snacks for a chilling night in.
Exciting tidings for enthusiasts of the Netflix documentary series, Unsolved Mysteries! Despite the fact that Volume 4 debuted on the streaming platform on July 31st, Variety has broken the exclusive news that Netflix intends to release an additional four episodes in October!
Although the specific release date for volume 5 remains unannounced, Variety suggests Netflix intends to air the episodes around Halloween. This timing might be part of their annual Netflix & Chills programming lineup. Additionally, we anticipate both seasons 2 of Squid Game and the horror film It’s What’s Inside to make their debut within that timeframe.
Netflix hasn’t specified which mysteries volume 5 of Variety will tackle, but Terry Dunn Meurer, one of the co-creators of Unsolved Mysteries, told the outlet that the October releases contain “the most puzzling mystery [she’s] ever encountered throughout her entire career on the show.” This is a noteworthy comment given that Meurer has been involved with the series since its debut in 1987 and has overseen numerous episodes.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that before we dive into the October episodes, there are five fresh installments waiting for us on Netflix! This latest set comprises some lesser-known mysteries, along with two captivating tales about infamous enigmas: the chilling story of Jack the Ripper and the intriguing accounts of the elusive creature from folklore, Mothman.
Meurer labels volume 4’s severed head episode as one of the ‘most bizarre’
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about Meurer’s revelation to the Tribune-Review. He labeled volume 4 episode “The Severed Head” as one of the series’ most peculiar episodes due to its intriguing plotline. In this installment, a teenager encounters an embalmed head in the woods close to a bus stop. Quite a mind-boggling mystery indeed!
I’d just never heard of anything like an embalmed head that’s been professionally severed and no body is found. We don’t know the cause of death, the manner of death. It just took us down this road into the world of body parts trade.
Her theory is that the woman wasn’t a homicide victim but that someone might have stolen her body for research purposes and, somehow, got caught up in the dark world of organ trading. She hopes that by featuring the case this season, someone might come forward with information that can reunite the head with its body and provide the loved ones of the deceased with closure.
