“Unsettling” British thriller with perfect score that first aired on BBC gets new UK streaming home

BBC’s Edinburgh-set psychological thriller Clique has found a new streaming home in the UK.

First broadcast from 2017 to 2018, the series centers around Synnøve Karlsen, known for her role in Medici, and Aisling Franciosi from The Fall, who play Holly McStay and Georgia Cunningham. These lifelong friends find themselves unwillingly involved with a popular girl group led by lecturer Jude McDermid, portrayed by Louise Brealey.

British Disney+ subscribers now have access to both seasons of the show “Clique,” which has been added to their streaming service. Simultaneously, the series continues to be viewable on BBC iPlayer.

Originally developed by Jess Brittain, the series titled Clique garnered positive feedback at its debut, being labeled as a “chilling” or “unsettling” thriller according to reviews from Time Out.

At the moment, this series is receiving rave reviews with a flawless 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on eight critiques. It has been lauded for its nail-biting atmosphere and thrilling climax.

The New Statesman described the series as a subtly crafted thriller that veils its political commentary within suspense, while Radio Times suggested viewers should stick with it initially because the final outcome is definitely worth the effort.

The Guardian praised the show, initially broadcast on BBC Three’s online-exclusive lineup, as “irresistibly captivating.” Decider also expressed high regard for the series’ “uniquely innovative” premise.

As a passionate gamer, I can easily binge-watch the entire season of Clique in just a week or two, given that each season has only six 44-minute episodes. It’s perfect for those who, like me, enjoy consuming engaging content swiftly!

Among the intriguing characters I’ll be sharing the screen with are Karlsen and Franciosi. Joining us is Rachel Hurd-Wood portraying Rachel Maddox, Sophia Brown bringing Louise “Lou” Taggart to life, and Ella-Rae Smith embodying Phoebe Parker-Fox in her unique way. Can’t wait to see these talented actresses bring their characters to the fore!

In the United Kingdom, you can stream seasons 1 and 2 of “Clique” on Disney+. Additionally, both seasons continue to be accessible on BBC iPlayer.

Grab your copy of “Oasis – Live in ’25” at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
