Unrecognizable TV Star: Mel from ‘My Parents Are Aliens’ 25 Years Later

One popular children’s TV character actress has reminisced about her memorable part, more than two decades since the show initially aired on television.

Danielle McCormack, aged 41, was the leading actress in the cherished CITV show titled “My Parents Are Aliens.” The series revolved around two extraterrestrial characters who accidentally landed on Earth and took care of three children as a strategy to blend in with humans.

The comedic series ran on the station between 1999 and 2006, featuring Danielle as the rebellious teen character Melanie “Mel” Barker.

In a TikTok video, Danielle appeared noticeably different from her attention-grabbing screen persona, pondering over the journey of becoming a child celebrity.

She mentioned that she portrayed Mel, who was the eldest among the three siblings. Mel was a captivating character, notable for her volatile temperament and unique, punkish fashion style. She was multidimensional, with numerous aspects hidden beneath her surface.

Afterward, Danielle disclosed that they had recently gathered together for a celebration party marking the 25th anniversary of the show.

Although she didn’t disclose which celebrities exactly showed up, it’s well-known that actors Tony Gardner and Carla Mendonça appeared on the series.

Last week, we celebrated our 25-year anniversary with a wonderful party. It was a rare occasion for us to gather in one place, as it’s been quite some time since we were all on set together. The reunion made it seem as if no years have gone by at all.

I believe you often appreciate those relationships where, despite not seeing someone for a considerable period, when you meet again, it seems as if no time has passed and they remain unchanged. However, let me clarify that while we may appear somewhat older, age is not something I’d like to emphasize.

Danielle mentioned that, although a remake of the famous show isn’t planned at present, she would jump at the chance to participate if given the opportunity.

She stated, “Now, I’m unsure about the future steps. At some point, there was a discussion on Reddit suggesting a revival. However, I believe it’s unlikely that will happen.

However, take note, should that chance arise, I would certainly show up. I would appear, donning my sturdy cowboy boots and sporting my braided hair, reminiscent of pigtails. Mel played a significant role in my life, and I am genuinely proud of that chapter.
