Unrecognizable Throwback: Bachelor Star Matty J’s Hilarious Transformation Revealed!

He instantly became a fan favourite on the Network Ten franchise, The Bachelor.

Initially gaining nationwide fame during Season 2 of The Bachelorette in 2017, he ultimately ended up as the show’s first runner-up.

In the next year, he featured in Season 5 of The Bachelor, swiftly capturing the affection of viewers, and eventually finding a spouse.

After achieving fame as a television personality, they teamed up with Sophie Faulkner to co-host the travel show “Luxury Getaways: Unveiling the World’s Finest Vacations.

Later, he ventured back into the world of reality TV shows by participating in the 2021 edition of Dancing with the Stars. Unfortunately, he was the one who got eliminated as the sixth contestant from the competition.

At the moment, he’s making an appearance on Channel Ten’s popular show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, which is in its eleventh season.

Of course, it’s none other than Matty ‘J’ Johnson. 

On Thursday, Laura Byrne, Matty’s spouse, posted a reminiscent adolescent picture of the man who would become a reality TV heartthrob on Matty’s Instagram account.

In 2022, they got married, a full five years following their encounter during their Bachelor days. Now, this duo is happily raising two kids together.

On Wednesday, Laura promptly agreed when a fan asked for a picture of a young Matty J.

In that photograph, with a distinctly rosy hue on my cheeks and a mass of wavy, jet-black tresses, I barely resembled myself.

Sporting a ruddy complexion and a thick mane of wavy black hair, the image showed me as almost unrecognizable.

Laura issued a stern warning to women who might have designs on her man after seeing the image. 

She posted: ‘He intends to harm me. This transformation surpasses all transformations, and it’s this man who has achieved it. Keep away, ladies, he belongs to me.’

The post sparked an overwhelming response from fans, as one fan confessed they found it hard to accept that the person in the picture was indeed Matty.

‘I refuse to believe this is Matty J,’ the skeptical fan wrote.

Another fan took a not-so-subtle dig at the size of Matty’s ears in the photo.  

They commented that he would have been an excellent choice to model the Toni May earrings, given his ample surface area for display.

It was suggested humorously that upon viewing the picture, it became clear why Matty developed into such a kind individual.

A fan remarked, ‘It’s because he had no other option that he developed such a lovely character.'”

Explanation: The original sentence uses the term “bless,” which is not common in everyday speech and can be replaced with “remarked.” Also, the phrase “this is why” has been rephrased as “it’s because” for a smoother flow. The comments continued unabated as well, with another fan proposing that Matty’s change was reminiscent of a storybook fairy tale.

‘That man embodies the nerd duckling that turned into a beautiful swan,’ they offered.

After Laura shared about the provocative present she got for her spouse, the amusing flashback picture emerged.

In her Life Uncut podcast, Laura admitted that she had been pondering over what to bring for everyone’s entertainment, and subsequently, she purchased a party game online.

‘I wanted to send Matt off with a bang. He’s never tried one. I’ve never tried one.’
