Unrecognizable Jaws Actor Spotted in LA—Can You Guess Who He Is?
People were thrilled to spot an actor known for old-time movies in Los Angeles lately, as he seldom shows up in public events.
At 79 years old, the well-recognized actor, famously portraying Deputy Hendricks in Jaws and Jaws 2, appeared cheerful and full of energy. He was seen sporting a carefree grin as he went about his everyday tasks.
In a relaxed style, wearing a casual jacket and jeans, he exuded an effortless charisma that set his character apart from the tumult of Amity Island. This was in stark contrast to the terror-filled atmosphere typical of Spielberg’s famous shark movies.
Infusing a sense of nostalgia, he adorns the scene with a hat bearing the words ‘Amity Police’, subtly referencing his cherished role.
However, it’s important to note that while he is widely recognized for his role in Jaws, this multitalented actor also graced the screens of horror classic Halloween II, swapping his police badge for dental instruments as a tense dentist, and left lasting impressions on popular TV series such as Ally McBeal and Barney Miller.
Can you guess which character actor this is?

If you guessed Jeffrey Kramer, you’re right!
Prior to his encounters with great white sharks, Kramer spent his childhood in Teaneck, New Jersey. He graduated from Teaneck High School in 1963 and subsequently enrolled at Ithaca College.
In the classic sitcom “Barney Miller,” he initially appeared, marking the start of a multifaceted and lasting acting journey that spanned both film and television, in an episode titled ‘Snow Job’.
Throughout the ’70s and ’80s, Kramer became a staple of both the big and small screen.
He made appearances across various shows, including Baretta, M*A*S*H, Laverne & Shirley, Soap, and Chico and the Man. He also graced cult classics such as Hollywood Boulevard and You Light Up My Life.
In Halloween II, horror enthusiasts recall his performance as the troubled dentist Graham, who made a grave mistake by examining the incorrect body, thinking it was the notorious Michael Myers.
In addition, he managed to fit in legal battles akin to The People versus The Fonz and showcase his humorous delivery in Happy Days as well.
Kramer shared screen time with Jack Elam in the quickly canceled but cherished NBC show Struck by Lightning. Following this, he landed parts in Heartbeeps, Clue, Santa Claus: The Movie, and The ‘Burbs, thus accumulating a career filled with offbeat, adored characters.

However, the subsequent phase of his career was equally remarkable. In the ’90s, Kramer shifted gears towards production, debuting his backstage contributions with the Bob Dylan: 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration in 1992.
From that point forward, I found myself deeply involved in shaping some of the groundbreaking TV series that left an indelible mark on the small screen, with Ally McBeal and The Practice standing out as my crowning achievements.
1998 saw The Practice triumphantly claiming the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series, but it was 1999 that etched our names into history. As Kramer and my fellow producers, we became pioneers by winning Emmy Awards for both Outstanding Comedy (Ally McBeal) and Outstanding Drama (The Practice) in the same remarkable year.
In the end, Kramer accumulated a total of six Emmy nominations, among them was a nomination in 2007 for his production work on Bigfoot Presents: Meteor and the Powerful Monster Trucks within the Daytime Emmy category.
Even today, he remains active in the industry—producing the upcoming CBS series H-Town in 2024.
