Unrecognizable George Actor Reunites With The Coopers In Georgie & Mandy’s Season 2 BTS

A new image from season 2 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage shows Lance Barber back as George Cooper, despite his character’s death being established in The Big Bang Theory. The writers of Young Sheldon handled George’s death well, and while fans anticipated the tragedy, the way it happened was still very impactful for both the characters and the audience.

It’s been a year and a half since Young Sheldon wrapped up, and honestly, it’s still hard to believe George is gone. While the Big Bang Theory universe has shifted its focus to Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, George’s death still really impacts the new show. I definitely miss seeing Lance Barber as George – he was such a great part of everything!

Fans were thrilled to see a recent photo of the cast of ‘Young Sheldon’ together! Actor Jim Parsons, who played Sheldon, was reunited with his on-screen family – Montana Jordan, Reagan Revord, Zoe Perry, and Matt Hobby – in a new picture shared on the show’s writers’ Instagram account. You can see the heartwarming photo below.

This isn’t the first time Jim Parsons (who played Sheldon) has been on the set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. After Young Sheldon ended, he got together with some of his former co-stars. He even reappeared as his character George in a memorable dream sequence during an episode of The Big Bang Theory‘s second spin-off series, while Georgie was sick.

It’s unclear whether a recent visit to the set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage means Jim Parsons will return for another cameo in season two. The show has already proven it can bring his character back, so it’s possible, as long as they have a good story reason. If this visit is a hint that the Cooper family’s father will appear again, fans hope he gets to interact with other characters like Mary and Missy.

While bringing George back could be fun, it also draws attention to the fact that Sheldon hasn’t been seen in the spin-off, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. If the show can resurrect a character, it will be harder to explain why Iain Armitage, who played young Sheldon, isn’t returning now that Young Sheldon has finished. He’s already scheduled to appear on Ghosts and remains friendly with his former castmates, meaning there’s nothing preventing the show from finding a way to bring him back.
