Unmasked Tears: Ferne McCann’s Emotional Dancing On Ice Exit Revealed
On Sunday, Ferne McCann found herself shedding tears backstage, following her elimination as the second celebrity contestant on Dancing On Ice.
Previously on TOWIE, the 34-year-old expressed deep disappointment upon learning about the voters’ decision. Her feelings were evident as she concluded her victory lap, unable to conceal her emotions on the ice.
During the movie week performance, Ferne, who had transformed herself into a troll, appeared to abruptly end her act due to an overwhelming wave of emotions.
A trustworthy source shared with us that Ferne broke down in tears backstage upon seeing her daughter Sunday, who is 7 years old, and her mother Gilly, aged 65, following their performance on the ice.
They said: ‘Back stage Ferne burst in to tears when her mum brought a tearful Sunday in to see her.
On Sunday, Farne swiftly gathered herself, brightened up noticeably, and left the house with a lively disposition to join both her friends and relatives.
‘She’s loved doing the show and has had a great time.’
In last night’s episode, Charlie Brooks from EastEnders found himself and Fern in the bottom two, as she received the least number of viewer votes.
Last week during the first show, Charlie had the fewest votes, placing him at the bottom. This week it was Ferne who got the least number of votes, and since both of them were at the bottom, they ended up in the bottom two.
Straight away, she was eliminated from the contest, not given a chance to battle for a spot during the skate-off.
Following the announcement of the decision, she expressed her feelings to hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern saying, “I am truly disappointed, extremely disappointed, yet… things are as they are. We were enjoying ourselves immensely, and I’m genuinely sorry…
In a caring tone, Holly remarked: “Ferne, it’s clear you’re distressed. Let me assure you, there’s much to be proud of. You’ve made your family proud, and we’ve all enjoyed having you around. Now, I encourage you to take one last lap as a tribute.
Ferne waved to the crowd while completing her lap, before covering her face to hide her tears.
Even presenter Stephen remarked: ‘Wow, she’s gutted’.
Thrilled beyond words, I took a brief moment to compose myself before joining my loved ones and the crew behind the scenes, reveling in the exhilaration of having graced that show.
Fern was given unwavering backing by her partner Lorri Haines, as he publicly expressed his affection on Instagram after her departure over the weekend.
He expressed: “I deeply admire this extraordinary, inspiring woman, and I feel compelled to tell you that it’s not just that you are my partner in every aspect of life, but I am incredibly proud of you for everything you have achieved so far – our wonderful children, your career success, and most significantly, your personal growth.
Learning a new skill within a limited timeframe can be incredibly challenging, especially for someone who juggles multiple roles such as being a full-time mother, a business owner, and performing an act like ice dancing before a large audience. Such feats are not commonly envisioned by many people!
You absolutely nailed it with your performance, watching was an absolute blast! Now you’ve got a lifelong skill, while I hold onto the penguin around the rink, I can just imagine you doing loops, jumps, and swirls. Great job! Next up… Let’s go!
She and her skating partner Brendyn Hatfield’s journey came to an end during fun-filled movie week.
The duo danced to Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September” while donning costumes inspired by DreamWorks’ Trolls characters, earning them a 28 from the judges.
Even though Josh Jones had to leave the skating competition because of the injury he got during Sunday’s rehearsal, host Holly announced that a famous contestant will still be eliminated, but there won’t be any skate-off.
Tonight, the couple at the bottom of the standings won’t get a second opportunity; they’ll be immediately eliminated from the contest without a chance for a skate-off to rescue them.
Comedian Josh and his companion, Tippy Packard, were scheduled to present a routine based on the song “The Mask” from Jim Carrey’s Cuban Pete track.
Unfortunately, the duo was forced to drop out at the eleventh hour, only a few hours before the live performance on Sunday, as Josh got hurt during rehearsals.
Before the performance during Movie Week, her family displayed their encouragement by appearing at the rink dressed up like trolls.
On the occasion of the blockbuster-themed show, Ferne was unexpectedly joined by her fiancé Lorri Haines along with their daughters, Sunday (age 7) and Finty (age 18 months).
The family showed up with wigs reminiscent of those seen in DreamWorks’ Trolls, in anticipation for Ferne’s rendition of September by Earth, Wind and Fire, prior to the event.
In a tribute to the classic scene from Ghosts, Charlie, aged 48, and her skating companion Eric Radford enacted it anew, all while honoring their rendition of Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers.
Initially glancing at the photos, it appears that Charlie was grinning broadly while seated at the pottery wheel, creating a bowl adorned with splatters of clay on her smock. Eric could be seen sitting behind her in these snapshots.
other images depicted Steve Redgrave donned as The Godfather prior to their skate, accompanied by the Love Theme from the movie played by City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share an intriguing sight: Sam Aston, a familiar face from Coronation Street, was snapped with his son, both sporting identical pyjamas. On the other hand, Dan Edgar, accompanied by his partner Vanessa James, made their way to Essex to catch up with old friend Diags.
Sam is scheduled to skate to a rendition of “I Wanna Be Like You” by Robbie Williams and Olly Murs, while a performance by TOWIE star Dan as James Bond will feature the iconic film theme song played by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
In this rendition of “The Sound of Music,” Michaela Strachan takes on the role previously played by Maria von Trapp, while the performance is based on Connie Fisher’s interpretation.
As I prepared for my upcoming skating performance, I was thrilled to be snapped alongside my partner Mark Hanretty and our esteemed Winterwatch colleagues, Chris Packham and Iolo Jones.
In another location, Anton Ferdinand will stage a Deadpool versus Wolverine act accompanied by Madonna’s “Like A Prayer”, as the skating performance of Mollie Pearce from The Traitors, titled “Beauty and the Beast”, is synchronized with music produced by London Music Works.
Funny person Josh Jones along with his partner Tippy Packard were originally scheduled to deliver a performance inspired by the character Cuban Pete, as seen in The Mask movie’s soundtrack, featuring Jim Carrey.
At the last moment, they were forced to pull out from the live show on Sunday because Josh suffered an injury during rehearsals.
It was announced via the official social media channels of Dancing on Ice that competitor Josh Jones suffered an injury during practice sessions and unfortunately had to pull out of the competition.
1. “We’ll deeply miss the collaboration between Josh and Tippy. Rest assured, we’re here to assist Josh during these challenging times, sending our best wishes for a swift recovery.”
2. “Josh and Tippy’s partnership was invaluable, and its absence will be felt. We stand ready to help Josh as he takes steps towards recovery.”
3. “The duo of Josh and Tippy was something special, and their absence leaves a void. We’re committed to providing support for Josh as he embarks on his healing journey.”
4. “We will truly miss the synergy between Josh and Tippy. Rest assured, we are here to help Josh in any way possible during this recovery phase.”
5. “The partnership between Josh and Tippy was something to behold, and its absence will be noticeable. We’re prepared to extend our support to Josh as he recovers.”
After just making it through the initial elimination during the previous live episode, Josh eventually decided to leave, as it was Hollyoaks actress Chelsee Healey who became the first celebrity to get eliminated.
In October, it became known that Josh would participate in Dancing On Ice, and on the radio station Gaydio, he openly acknowledged that he had absolutely no prior skating skills.
He said: ‘I did it once for a date years ago and I wasn’t very good.
‘I was holding onto the railings the entire time and we aren’t together now.
I’m not the best dancer out there; even though I’m gay, I don’t have much of a natural rhythm. Clapping along with a beat is tough for me, so let’s see if we can make this dancing experience enjoyable together!
