Unlock the Secrets: Find Every Ingredient for the Hearth Potion in Palia’s Elderwood!

In the latest update for Palia, titled Elderwood expansion, there are numerous new elements introduced including an expansive new terrain to discover. As part of the primary storyline, you’ll encounter Tamala, a secretive potion-maker from Majiri, who offers special concoctions that can aid you during your adventures in Elderwood. However, before Tamala sells these potions, you’ll need to finish specific quests. The Hearth Potion, for example, requires hard-to-find ingredients.

Potion shops are now a feature in the expansion, offering temporary advantages as you navigate the mysterious wildlife in the region. Tamala’s potion stand can be found within the Central Stables in the Elderwood zone of Palia. Here, she sells potions, runestones, pumpkin seeds, and sacred flowers. The potion shop is hard to miss, particularly once you’ve secured your own stable, with all items costing Infected Essence rather than gold.

How To Start The Quest Where The Hearth Is

Tamala Wants To Make Amends For Trapping You

The adventure titled “Where the Hearth Is” continues from where the previous main storyline quest left off, where Tamala imprisoned you in a cave as retribution for your actions. Following your rescue of Ulfe and conversation with Subira, the main questline temporarily halts. However, if you encounter Tamala roaming around, she will have a quest indicator. During your interaction with her, she will express remorse for her actions and propose an apology method.

Tamala will clarify that she can concoct a magical elixir which swiftly transports you directly to your personal property. Similar to her previous Elderwood potion, she requires these primary ingredients to be collected first. The Swift Home Elixir is particularly useful when the standard return method via the map is temporarily unavailable due to cooldown.

Tamala’s Teleporting Potion Needs Four Ingredients

Star Quality Ingredients Are Often Hard To Find

The Hearth Potion requires four components, three of which must be top-notch in quality. This rarity comes from these high-quality ingredients being uncommon even though they usually come from common or abundant sources. As a result, how swiftly you can complete a task or quest often depends on the drop rate and luck. For her new teleportation potion, Tamala needs 300 Infected Essence, an Ogopuu Scale of star quality, a Blushing Butterfly of star quality, and a piece of top-notch Elder Clam Mushroom Meat.

Where To Find Infected Essence

Gathering the Infected Essence becomes more straightforward once you reach the Elderwood, as it can be found in abundance there. You can collect it from individual floating orbs of purple energy, or even from infected plants and animals within the area. In simpler terms, obtaining Infected Essence is facilitated by harvesting materials in the Elderwood, making it essential for potions like the Elderwood Potion or a Bag of Illusion relic.

300 units of Infected Essence can be quite a task to accumulate and it requires time; nonetheless, the lowest level Bag of Illusion allows you to gather infected plants and trees, which are most effective and also offer fresh materials for crafting. Alternatively, Elderwood Potions, priced at 15 Infected Essence each, can be bought from Tamala’s shop if gathering isn’t an option.

Where To Find Starred Elder Clam Mushroom Meat

In simpler terms, you can find the Elder Clam Mushrooms abundantly across the Okanaa Bog region within Elderwood. They appear as light pink mushrooms with a green tint on top, and due to their rapid respawn rate, they are easily collectible, although it might take several mushrooms before you find one of suitable quality.

To extract the inner content from an Elder Clam Mushroom, simply open your inventory and follow the same method you’d use to open an oyster. This process yields Elder Clam Mushroom Meat, which could be a star-quality piece or even a Black Pearl. My luck wasn’t so great, as I had to search through about 100 Elder Clam Mushrooms before finding a starred piece of meat; the chance is roughly 10%.

Where To Find A Starred Blushing Batterfly

In the hidden nooks of Elderwood’s caverns, you might encounter the Radiant Butterfly – a delicate creature with a soft pink hue that appears almost white in the game. Interestingly, these luminescent butterflies in Palia have a subtle glow, making them particularly noticeable even in the dimly lit caves. And guess where I found the most of these radiant creatures? In the Red Blossom Cave!

The Fluttering Blooming Butterfly is quite swift and tends to zip about when startled, making it tricky to hit accurately. To make things easier, I suggest utilizing Homemade Sticky Smoke Bombs as a means to slow them down. These can be made by combining one piece of clay, one piece of fabric, and one Sweet Leaf.

Where To Find A Starred Ogopuu Scale

Finding the elusive star quality Ogopuu Scale is quite challenging due to its rarity, as it can only be obtained from the blue Ogopuu. Luckily, these creatures are abundant and can be spotted near water bodies in Mitana Grove, Deep Woods, and particularly in Okanaa Bog. However, keep in mind that Ogopuu will retaliate by spitting sticky substances when disturbed or attacked, slowing your movement. Therefore, I’d strongly advise hunting for them with a companion or even a group to increase your chances of success.

To obtain a Fine Bow or better in the game Palia, you should at least possess level six hunting skills. Additionally, this level allows for crafting Fine Arrows, which inflict the most damage and lessen the number of hits required to eliminate an Ogopuu. After collecting your necessary ingredients, make your way back to Tamala, who will generously reward you with a complimentary Hearth Potion and one Red Candy Egg. When consumed, this egg provides 250 Focus points.
