Univision, the Spanish-language TV network, has returned to YouTube TV. This happened because its parent company, TelevisaUnivision, and YouTube TV reached a new agreement to work together.
TelevisaUnivision and YouTube TV have reached a new, multi-year agreement. This means YouTube TV’s 10 million subscribers will now have access to Univision, Unimas, TUDN, and Galavisión as part of their standard subscription.
The deal ends a two-month blackout of the channels, including Los Angeles flagship KMEX.
I’m excited to report that YouTube and Univision have teamed up! As part of their deal, you’ll now be able to find and subscribe to Univision’s streaming service, Vix, right through YouTube’s Primetime Channels. It’s a really convenient way to access even more content directly within the YouTube platform.

As the election nears its end, Vice President Harris and former President Trump are both focusing heavily on securing votes from a key group of voters.
As a huge fan of having all my entertainment options in one place, I was thrilled to hear that Univision is back on YouTube TV! As someone who values diverse voices, it’s fantastic that millions of Spanish-speaking viewers will once again have access to the news, sports, and shows they’ve been counting on from TelevisaUnivision for over 70 years. Their CEO, Daniel Alegre, shared the good news, and honestly, it’s a relief for anyone who loves a complete viewing experience.
I was pretty frustrated when YouTube TV tried to move the Univision channels to a more expensive package. It would have meant an 18% price increase for me and other customers who wanted to keep watching them.
Offering Univision as part of a more expensive package would have reduced revenue from subscribers, because the networks earned money based on how many customers chose that higher-priced option.
As a big fan of both Univision and YouTube TV, I was really disappointed when they couldn’t reach an agreement. It’s been months – since September 30th, actually – and the Univision channels are still missing from YouTube TV. It’s even gotten the attention of people in Washington, because a lot of lawmakers are worried that viewers like me are being asked to pay extra just to watch Spanish-language channels.
YouTube TV launched in 2017 as a more affordable option compared to traditional cable or satellite TV. However, the price of the channels it offers keeps increasing because of deals made with major networks, sometimes leading to service interruptions and difficult negotiations.
Disney’s channels, like ESPN, were unavailable on YouTube TV for ten days. They reached a new agreement on November 14th to restore service.
NBCUniversal’s channels were also at risk of being pulled before a new deal was reached on Oct. 2.
Since it first became available, the monthly cost of YouTube TV has more than doubled, now costing $82.99.
