Unforgotten boss’s “totally different” new crime drama teased ahead of release this month
Showrunner Chris Lang has shared his thoughts about his upcoming series titled “I, Jack Wright“, slated for release towards the end of this month.
Starting on Alibi on the 23rd of April, this new series unfolds the events following the suspected suicide of wealthy individual Jack Wright. A contentious reading of his will unearths hidden family mysteries, leading the authorities to question if it was actually a homicide, and subsequently launching a murder investigation.
In his contemplation, Lang pondered over how each installment of the series started with conversations featuring one of the key figures involved.

In conversation, it was pointed out that we often watch numerous real-life crime series on television, and it’s becoming more challenging to distinguish between a genuine crime documentary and a dramatized one, according to Lang (as reported by RadioTimes)).
I’ve tried out both options, and I found myself intrigued about adding an element of surprise to make people wonder, “Could this actually be true?
In his explanation, Lang mentioned that concentrating on a single character’s storyline per episode creates a captivating narrative structure. He added that this approach offers a fresh viewpoint on the events and provides an intriguing conclusion to each tale.
As a curious fan, I can’t help but ponder: This narrative provides an intriguing glimpse into their current lives. It leaves me wondering, “How on earth did they arrive at this point? What led her to prison? What circumstances forced him into a homeless shelter?” These are the questions that stir my curiosity.
Additionally, it provided me with a chance to compose short concluding segments or reflections, similar to a coda or homily, at the end of each episode, featuring Nikki [Amuka-Bird’s] character. This served to create intrigue for the next episode by scattering tantalizing hints, encouraging viewers to return.
The acting lineup features Amuka-Bird from “Citadel,” along with Harry Lloyd, John Simm, Daniel Rigby, Zoë Tapper, and James Fleet.
