Unforgotten boss’s new crime drama gets first look ahead of 2025 release

As a fan who’s been following British crime dramas for the better part of my life, I can confidently say that the upcoming series I, Jack Wright has piqued my interest more than any other recent announcement. The star-studded cast and intriguing plot twists promise a riveting watch, not to mention the return of Chris Lang’s masterful storytelling.

As Jack Wright, I’m thrilled to share that the gripping crime drama I’m part of, penned by none other than Chris Lang (creator of Unforgotten), is unveiling some tantalizing sneak peeks before its debut next year.

The upcoming series is set to keep viewers on their toes with numerous unexpected developments, as the lead character, a prominent business figure, creates chaos within his family upon revealing his decision to take his own life.

Upon learning about Jack’s last will and testament, his third spouse and two sons are taken aback to find that most of his substantial wealth has been left to others, excluding them significantly.

As DCI Morgan and DC Jones dig deeper into the mystery, they uncover that Jack’s demise was not a natural one but a deliberate act of murder. Suspicion now falls on the Wright family, where an old and bitter family feud is brewing.

With each relative growing increasingly daring and frantic in their attempts to claim a part of Jack’s inheritance, hidden truths and simmering grudges come to light, causing shockwaves.

In this new production, Trevor Eve assumes the character of Jack Wright, with Nikki Amuka-Bird portraying his spouse Sally. Meanwhile, John Simm and Daniel Rigby are cast as their sons, named Gray and John respectively.

Currently, Harry Lloyd from “Game of Thrones” and Liz Kingsman known for “Hijack” are set to play roles as DCI Morgan and DC Jones respectively.

In addition to the main cast, we have Rakhee Thakrar from “Sex Education,” Zoë Tapper known for her work in “Liar,” James Fleet who has been seen in “Bridgerton,” Sabrina Bartlett starring in “The Larkins,” and Percelle Ascott hailing from “Domino Day.”

In early 2025, the production “I, Jack Wright,” helmed by director Tom Vaughn and penned by writer Lang, will make its debut on the Alibi network.

Meanwhile, the much-anticipated sixth season of Lang’s acclaimed ITV crime drama, titled Unforgotten, commenced filming this year.

“I’m thrilled to soon begin filming the sixth season of ‘Unforgotten,’ a story that has been developing since June 23rd, 2016 – a time when our nation appeared to split apart,” is one way to paraphrase the original statement. It maintains the same meaning and sentiment while using more natural and easy-to-read language.

I, Jack Wright will premiere on Alibi in early 2025.
