Uncovering The Union’s Twist in Weak Hero Class 2 and What It Means for Class 3!

heads up: Major plot points from Weak Hero Class 2 are revealed here! The Union was pivotal in Weak Hero Class 2 as it laid the groundwork for Class 3. This engaging coming-of-age K-drama is based on the webtoon Weak Hero and first aired on the Korean streaming platform Wavve. However, it was added to Netflix before the release of season 2. The K-drama quickly rose to become one of the most watched Korean series on Netflix and remained in the Global Top Ten Non-English TV Shows for several weeks.

The story revolves around a character named Si-eun, a diligent student who firmly resists any attempts at bullying. When his tormentors persist, he unites with fellow students to control those harassing him and others in their class. In Weak Hero Class 1, Si-eun was required to confront everyday classroom bullies, but in Class 2, he finds himself at odds with some very dangerous individuals.

The Union In Weak Hero Class 2 Explained

Na Baek-jin Was The Leader Of The Union

The initial ending of ‘Weak Hero Class 1’ featured a post-credit sequence introducing the Union. In ‘Class 2’, we delve deeper into the Union, learning more about their identity and structure. Essentially, the Union is a collective formed by troublemakers from three high schools near Eujang High. Among them, Baek-jin from Yeoil High serves as the main leader, reporting to Mr. Choi. The Union functions somewhat like a gang, engaging in petty crimes such as phone and motorcycle thefts for monetary gain.

Mr. Choi operates his business from within a bowling alley, which serves as a front for money laundering. He employs high school students to assist him and rewards their loyalty with payments. The impeccable functioning of this organization is attributed to Baek-jin, who meticulously erases any trace of their activities using temporary bank accounts that are exclusively managed by him and Seong-je, thereby evading police arrest.

Unlike many other high schools, Eujang doesn’t belong to the Union as Baku chooses not to align with them. Consequently, students from the Union often bully those who attend Eujang High, hoping to coerce them into joining. However, Baku has valiantly resisted these attempts, preventing Eujang from falling under Baek-jin and Mr. Choi’s control. This is why Baku is greatly respected by his peers for standing up against the Union.

How Na Baek-jin’s Death Sets Up Weak Hero Class 3

Na Baek-jin’s Death Means The Union Doesn’t Have A Leader

In the final episode of “Weak Hero Class 2”, Na Baek-jin didn’t manage to win his fight against Baku and some students from Eujang High, resulting in him missing out on joining the high school part of the union. After the battle, no one could find Baek-jin for a while as he seemed to have vanished. However, the post-credits scene of “Weak Hero Class 2” revealed that Si-eun and his friends were attending Baek-jin’s funeral, shedding light on what had happened to him. Although the show didn’t explicitly explain how Baek-jin died, it is likely that he met his end at the hands of Mr. Choi since he failed to defeat Baku.

Previously, Mr. Choi had warned Baek-jin that if he failed to take over Eujang High School, Baek-jin would face consequences. Sadly, it appears that those consequences came true with Baek-jin’s demise. As a result, the Union is leaderless and the sought-after position stands vacant. Given his previous role as Baek-jin’s deputy, it seems logical that Geum Seong-je would step into the leadership role of the Union. However, Mr. Choi has requested Seong-je to replace Baek-jin, but Seong-je declined.

When Baek-jin held leadership within the Union, he was accountable to a ruthless and menacing superior. Seong-je finds such a lifestyle unacceptable, causing him to decline the position of Union leader. Baku, Si-eun, Jun-tae, and Gotak pose obstacles for Mr. Choi’s objectives. Baku is likely to seek retribution for Baek-jin’s demise and dismantle the Union entirely, whereas Mr. Choi intends to thwart Baku. This impending confrontation promises a significant showdown for the Weak Hero Class 3.
