Umbrella Academy’s Elliot Page reflects on Viktor’s journey

As a devoted fan of The Umbrella Academy, I must say that the final season’s release today on Netflix is a bittersweet moment. Elliot Page, who beautifully portrayed Viktor Hargreeves, spoke exclusively to Digital Spy and shared his heartfelt thoughts about his character’s journey throughout the series.

Actor Elliot Page, known for his role in The Umbrella Academy, honored his character’s story arc throughout the series as the last episode of the show premieres today on Netflix.

To Digital Spy, the actor shared thoughts about his portrayal of Viktor, stating, “I hope we managed to portray Viktor’s journey truthfully and offer a fresh take on this type of story.”

Over the span of four seasons, Viktor underwent a substantial transformation, starting with uncovering the truth about his powers and later revealing his identity as transgender, which happened two years following Page’s open declaration.

The actor from the show “Close to You” expressed gratitude for being fortunate enough to finish four seasons, and also appreciated the audience’s positive reactions.

He went on to say, “Much of what I’ve appreciated about it is due to the complexities and subtleties of the characters, their personalities, and the intricate relationships they share. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have been involved in something like this.”

Justin H. Min, a fellow cast member, echoed similar thoughts when he told Digital Spy: “It was enjoyable having four seasons and various characters on the show because it allowed us to experiment with distinct characters in each season. It was fascinating to learn about each family member individually over the years.”

Min mentioned, “We’ve truly turned into a family unit. Yes, it’s a phrase we use frequently, but I genuinely feel as if we’re all part of one big family.”

David Castañeda, who plays Diego in the series, also reminisced about the six years they had spent together as a cast, stating: “It feels like a long time. Each one of us has transformed and grown. It’s been an incredibly heartwarming and humbling experience to share this journey with everyone here, truly it has.”

The Umbrella Academy seasons 1-4 are available to stream now on Netflix.
