In simpler terms, the game League of Legends offers several distinct play styles. One highly appreciated mode, called Ultra Rapid Fire, is back again after being absent for close to a year.
In the realm of League of Legends (LoL), you’ll find a variety of distinct gaming options. Some are permanent fixtures, like Teamfight Tactics (TFT) and All Random All Mid (ARAM). Occasionally, modes such as Swarm and Ascension may vanish without a trace. However, others, such as Ultra Rapid Fire (URF), periodically make a comeback – and at the moment, it’s back in action!
What is Ultra Rapid Fire?
URF (Ultra Rapid Fire), distinct from the unattained manatee champion, makes its comeback in League of Legends and has been absent since March 2024. Unlike typical games, it’s played on the Summoner’s Rift map with a familiar objective: destroying the enemy’s Nexus. Yet, URF gameplay is unlike anything you’ve experienced before.
In this setup, cool-down periods are significantly shortened, making them practically non-existent, and mana management is irrelevant since spells can be cast without any cost. Consequently, some champions become extremely potent. However, to maintain a degree of fairness, champions are chosen at random, with an option for re-roll in most games. So, don’t be surprised if you encounter a Karthus who might send you back to base using his Requiem.
Every champion can technically dominate the rift, but some of the strongest are:
- Shaco
- Ryze
- Karthus
- Teemo
- Blitzkrank
- Fizz
- Zed
Here are a few standout contenders that might nearly assure success, yet what truly sparks our excitement is Mel showcasing the talents of everyone in real time.
In the world of League of Legends, battles on Summoner’s Rift can become quite intense, but the excitement is toned down in URF mode for many players. Unlike ARAM, where regular builds are needed, URF allows for more experimentation, as everyone receives additional gold and has a cannon to speed up lane movement. You might encounter champions taking on Baron Nashor or Atakhan alone, while others will dominate lanes with rapid-fire abilities.
