UK’s 1st Girl Band in 25 Yrs: Remember Monday’s Eurovision Battle & Sabrina Carpenter Twist!
On Monday, they will be preparing to represent the United Kingdom at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest happening in May.
The female country music trio made up of Charlotte, Holly, and Lauren is set to become the first girl group to represent their country in more than 25 years. They’ve shared an unexpected story involving Sabrina Carpenter.
In 1999, it was Precious who were selected as the final girl group to take the stage in the UK. Their performance of “Say It Again” earned them a spot in 12th place.
On Monday, the band “Remember” is set to perform their song “What The Hell Just Happened?” in a bid for Eurovision victory.
2024 will see the Eurovision Song Contest take place in Basel, Switzerland, as a result of Nemo winning the Grand Final with their song “The Code” that year.
So, who are Remember Monday? Here TopMob has everything you need to know…

Who are they?
The group made up of Charlotte, Holly, and Lauren is a threesome of close-knit friends, recognized for their powerful voices and beautifully harmonized tunes.
They met in sixth form at Farnborough Sixth Form College in Farnborough, Hampshire.
Their name refers to the day they used to meet up to practise when they first formed.
In 2019, Monday first appeared on television screens, gaining notoriety after they advanced to the Quarter-Finals on The Voice UK.
Beyond crafting my own brand of uplifting pop music, I’ve earned a reputation for catchy tunes that resonate virally across social platforms. My dedicated fanbase, numbering over half a million strong, has amassed a staggering 11.3 million likes on TikTok alone.
The group artfully reworked lively a cappella versions of tunes by various musicians such as Sabrina Carpenter, Queen, Shania Twain, and even those from the musical “Wicked.
In 2023, all the girls abandoned their regular jobs to focus entirely on their band career. Before this, they had already made appearances in West End theater productions.
As a devoted enthusiast, I follow in the footsteps of characters like those from Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera (my alias being Holly), Mary Poppins (Charlotte’s persona), and Matilda (Lauren’s character), who not only graced the stage but also held a lead role during the SIX tour.

What happened with Sabrina Carpenter?
Last week, Remember Monday revealed they had wrote a song named 15 minutes ‘a while back.’
On Instagram, they posted a video where they performed an a cappella rendition of the song, which was sung after Sabrina Carpenter had already released her own version with the same title.
They titled their post: ‘I composed a song titled ’15 minutes’ some time ago, but Sabrina’s version surpasses ours, so we have decided to discard our own and offer our affectionate regards instead.’
On her recently-released 2024 album Short n’ Sweet (Deluxe), there’s a track by Sabrina titled “Sabrina’s Song”. This song runs for approximately 15 minutes, and it was issued as a standalone single last month.
Her song is a reference to how fleeting fame is.

What song are they performing?
Reflect on the song “What The Hell Just Happened?” from Monday’s Eurovision entry, which portrays the events following an enjoyable night out with companions.
For the first time since 1999, a girl band has been selected to represent the UK in the competition, marking their debut as the nation’s representative.
Now available is a lively pop tune penned jointly by Billen Ted (Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan), Thomas Stengaard, and Julie ‘Kill J’ Aagaard. It’s packed with energy, excitement, and theatrics.
The girls seem poised for success, having collaborated with several prominent artists like Little Mix, Anne-Marie, MNEK, and Armin van Buuren, which has earned them BRIT Award nominations as Billen Ted.
Previously, Thomas Stengaard penned the Eurovision-winning song “Only Teardrops” for Denmark in 2013. On the other hand, Julie ‘Kill J’ Aagaard is not only a highly successful multi-platinum songwriter, but also an accomplished experimental pop artist who has established her own name in the music industry.
The independent music and entertainment company, The Other Songs, will distribute the upcoming release titled “What The Hell Just Happened?
