Ubisoft postpones the release of Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence indefinitely
As a dedicated gamer and long-time fan of Ubisoft’s immersive titles, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment upon hearing the indefinite postponement of Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence releases. These games were highly anticipated additions to Ubisoft’s mobile lineup, promising thrilling third-person shooter and CQB experiences, respectively.
If you were planning to experience the action-packed third-person shooter game, The Division Resurgence, and the close quarters battle title, Rainbow Six Mobile, on your mobile devices this year, I regret to inform you that their release has been put on hold indefinitely by Ubisoft.
As a devoted fan of Ubisoft, I was looking forward to the release of not one, but two highly anticipated games from this France-based video game powerhouse this year. With their previous year being incredibly successful, Ubisoft had even shared their ambitions for an even bigger picture in FY25. Unfortunately, recent developments have confirmed that this optimistic timeline will no longer be met.
Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence release delay might hit FY25 earnings for Ubisoft
In the first quarter report for the 2024-25 fiscal year, the company explained that their teams are dedicating the required effort to create top-notch experiences that align with our expectations. This process involves fine-tuning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to thrive in a complex marketplace where high demands and vast opportunities coexist.
As someone who has been following the gaming industry for years and has gone through numerous release cycles, I can tell you that when it comes to discussing timelines based on Fiscal Years (FY), it’s essential to clarify what that means. The term “Fiscal Year” refers to a 12-month period used by businesses and organizations to account for their financial activities. In this specific context, we’re talking about the FY starting from April 1, 2024, and ending on March 31, 2025.
Two games weren’t the only ones with postponement to next year. Tencent Games changed direction for “Party Stars,” causing a shift in release date for “Assassin’s Creed Jade” to 2025 as well. Although Ubisoft owns the game, Level Infinite manages publishing duties for this open-world mobile RPG.
If you don’t only use mobile devices, there are more Ubisoft games for you to explore. The company has announced that “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” and “Star Wars Outlaws” will be part of the lineup for the rest of FY25.
Currently, the scheduled launch years for Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence are unknown. It’s unclear if these games will be out in the upcoming fiscal year, which means the delayed announcement is disappointing for those eagerly waiting for their release.
