Tylor Chase’s Nickelodeon co-star Devon Werkheiser says he’s ‘heartbroken’ to see the former child actor living homeless on the streets of LA and caught in ‘an unbelievably challenging situation’

Actor Devon Werkheiser shared his sadness after learning that his former Nickelodeon co-star, Tylor Chase, was found living on the streets of Los Angeles.

Chase, known for his role as Martin Qwerly in the early 2000s TV show Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, was recently filmed by passersby while experiencing homelessness. People recognized him as the former actor.

I was really saddened to see the video circulating, and I’m glad to hear from Nathan Kress, who played Ned Bigby with Landon Chase on Drake & Josh. He’s spoken out about it, and I appreciate him sharing his thoughts.

He told TMZ: ‘Tylor was a sensitive, sweet, and kind kid. It is heartbreaking to see him this way.

It’s been nearly 20 years since I last saw Tylor, after the show wrapped up. Dealing with serious addiction and mental health problems is incredibly difficult, especially when someone isn’t ready to accept help.

He explained that it’s a constant challenge to get things back on track, and it takes a lot of help, understanding, and time.

Werkheiser asked people not to film Chase, 36, when he’s at his lowest point, but he also says he appreciates the attention his difficult situation is receiving.

I’m hoping this situation will bring Tylor the help he needs. If someone with the knowledge and means can step forward and get him treatment, he has a chance to turn things around. We’re all just hoping for the best possible outcome.

Officials in Riverside, California haven’t determined how long the former Nickelodeon star has been experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles, which is currently facing a significant homelessness crisis.

Police haven’t determined how long the man has been living on the streets, according to Riverside Police Department’s Ryan Railsback. Railsback told the Daily Mail that the man has always been polite and helpful during his interactions with officers.

He stated that officers from the Public Safety Engagement Team reach out to him weekly, regularly providing help like information about temporary housing.

According to Railsback, Chase, 36, has repeatedly refused help from the department’s outreach team, including offers of shelter, substance abuse treatment, and mental health services.

Chase is not wanted for any crimes, police told TMZ.

Police confirmed to the Daily Mail that they haven’t contacted the former actor’s family, as he is currently experiencing homelessness. An officer stated, ‘We haven’t tried to reach out to his family for him.’

A video of Chase, looking unwell, surfaced in September from Riverside and quickly went viral. Former colleagues have said the video was disturbing.

Chase did not seem to be upset when police informed him of the viral video, authorities told TMZ.

The Riverside Police Department’s Community Engagement Division works to tackle new crime patterns, keep schools and parks safe, lower shoplifting, and build strong relationships with people throughout the city, according to the department’s website.

The woman who filmed the viral clip started by asking Chase if he was on the Disney Channel.

‘Nickelodeon,’ Chase clarified, adding that he was on ‘Ned’s Declassified.’

‘Oh yeah, you’re that kid on it,’ the fan responded, as Chase told her his full name.

The video quickly made many people on social media feel sad, and Chase’s old colleagues were shocked when they found out about it.

On September 24th, actors Robby Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee, and Lindsey Shaw discussed the news during an appearance on the Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide.

Lee shared that he received upsetting news earlier this week about their friend, Tylor Chase, and found it difficult to handle. He described a video related to the news as frightening.

Lee initially felt angry when he saw the footage, questioning why someone would be filmed during a difficult time. He then realized he was upset with himself, feeling helpless and unable to change the situation.

Honestly, when I first heard about it, I tried to make excuses. I kept telling myself, ‘No way, they must have just gotten him on a really off day!’ I just couldn’t accept it, you know?
