Tyler, the Creator releases new album, ‘Don’t Tap the Glass’
Tyler, the Creator has been busy.
On an early Monday, the LA-based rapper unveiled “Don’t Tap the Glass,” marking his second album release within approximately nine months.
The latest 10-song collection is reminiscent of “Chromakopia,” released in October, preceding Tyler’s annual Camp Flog Gnaw festival held at Dodger Stadium, where he showcased songs like “Noid” and “Sticky.” Additionally, he invited Sexyy Red, Doechii, and ScHoolboy Q for performances during the festival. Following its release, Tyler embarked on a global tour in February, making stops at Crypto.com Arena for six nights and wrapping up last week with shows at Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center in New York.

As indicated by the information provided on Apple Music, “Don’t Tap the Glass” (a song without any listed collaborators) was self-produced by Tyler. The album exudes a lively, dance-oriented vibe, rich with nostalgic musical elements from the past.
In a post on X, Tyler expressed that the Lindy Hop (LP) originated from a discussion he had with his friends regarding their reluctance to dance in public. According to him, they were hesitant due to the fear of being recorded. He further noted: “It’s tragic that a genuine form of self-expression and the bond people have with music has become elusive. This situation made me ponder over how much of our human spirit might have been suppressed because of the fear of becoming viral online.
Tyler penned that this album isn’t meant for idle listening. Instead, he suggests moving around – dancing, driving, or even running – to possibly grasp its essence.
