Tyler, The Creator calls Taylor Swift fans 'racist' for trying to 'cancel' him over old lyrics

As a die-hard fan of Tyler, The Creator, I find myself utterly fascinated by his unapologetic spirit and uncensored artistry. His latest album, Chromakopia, has been nothing short of a masterpiece, and the Boston concert on Halloween was an experience I’ll never forget.

Tyler, The Creator has labeled some Taylor Swift supporters as “racist” after they attempted to boycott him due to past lyrics he wrote about her.

33-year-old rap artist Tyler recently unveiled his eighth studio album titled “Chromakopia” on Monday, a mere 12 days following its official announcement, leaving fans astounded. To add to the surprise, he organized an album concert in Boston on Halloween.

Instead, Tyler’s focus moved from his latest work to fans raising concerns about his past lyrics from the song “Fish” on his 2009 album Goblin. In this track, he raps: ‘Tyler swiftly slips into Taylor Swift’s bedroom, and they take a trip in her heart – symbolized by the ticket.’

In a recent video, he criticized trolls during the show, stating: “Swiftie fans are angry with me over resurfaced lyrics they deem racist. Listen to ‘Tron Cat’ once more, I honestly couldn’t care less.

‘What the f**k b***h? They gonna bring out the old me”‘

2011 song “Tron Cat” by the artist, who was 20 years old at the time, contained lyrics discussing disturbing topics such as making violent sexual advances towards a pregnant woman, bragging about having a threesome, domestic abuse, and excessive masturbation.

During that period, Tyler faced a broad wave of criticism over his song’s lyrics, yet he went ahead and performed it at the 2021 Lollapalooza Festival.

On Halloween, Swift and Tyler were fiercely competing for the number one spot on the global Spotify Top Artists list, but more recently, Swift has regained that position.

Tyler will be heading on a seven-month world tour in celebration of Chromakopia.

Starting in Minnesota on February 2nd, the tour will have him performing throughout North America, followed by stops in the UK and Europe starting from April 25th.

Tyler’s lyrics have previously landed him in hot water.

2015 marked the year when entry into the UK was denied to him, following a ban imposed in 2014 due to concerns about his actions potentially disrupting public order and public welfare in New Zealand.

According to a song’s lyrics from 2009, it seems I’m barred from entering the UK for 3-5 years. This explains why my shows had to be canceled, as I was just in the country eight days ago.

Regarding a particular instance, the Home Office chose not to provide details, yet made it clear through a statement that entering the United Kingdom is considered a privilege, and they anticipate those who enter to uphold our common principles.

The documents provided by the government to the musician showed that his application had been denied based on the Home Office’s policy against behaviors deemed unsuitable for the United Kingdom, with references made to songs like “Tron Cat. VCR,” “Blow,” “Sarah,” and “French.

Dear Tyler,

In simpler terms, your albums ‘Bastard’ from 2009 and ‘Goblin’ from 2011, portray a theme where you assume the role of a disturbed character who describes acts of intense violence, such as abuse, rape, and murder in explicit detail. This character seems to present these actions in an attractive or glamorized manner.

In 2019, he was granted entry into the UK following the resignation of the Home Secretary (Theresa May). Later, he shared with The Guardian about an incident in 2015: “Then you receive approval. It felt like a relief, but it was foolish to have to go through that ordeal. I was treated as if I were a terrorist. Yes, indeed. I was treated as though I had committed a murder.
