Tyla leaves little to the imagination as she rocks a racy temporary body tattoo for a night out in Paris amid fashion week

Tyla certainly turned heads as she stepped out in Paris on Tuesday night.

The 24-year-old singer showed off a revealing temporary tattoo while out during fashion week, choosing a design that was quite daring.

The inking was designed to look like a jacket and flashed her bare back as she left her hotel.

Her torso and arms were wrapped in the snakeskin print which she teamed with unbuttoned jeans.

The South African singer and songwriter added strappy heels to her look and a stylish handbag.

She put on a confident display as she strutted her stuff out of her hotel amid a busy fashion week.

I was really touched by Tyla’s honesty when she shared her experiences from primary school in South Africa. She talked about how she was bullied as a kid because of her hair and skin – attending a school where most of the other students were white made it especially tough for her, and it was brave of her to speak out about it.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always been fascinated by how our beginnings shape us. It’s interesting to learn that the incredibly talented artist behind ‘Water’ actually grew up near Johannesburg, and has shared that her early school years weren’t very positive experiences. It really highlights how even successful people can overcome challenging starts.

Speaking to Vogue, she said the bullying made her ‘hate herself’ before she moved to high school.

She said: ‘I went to a very white primary school. I really hated myself.

I went to high school, and it was a really positive experience because the school was full of Black students and rich culture. That’s where I truly learned to love and accept myself for who I am.

She looked stunning in the Vogue photoshoot, showcasing her fit physique in a revealing red and white crop top paired with black trousers.

She looked stunning in a yellow and white polka dot matching set that showed off her long legs.

She also addressed the criticism she received for her behavior at the 2024 MTV Music Video Awards, speaking about it publicly for the first time in the interview.

Okay, so everyone’s totally losing it over what happened with her and Lil Nas X! She won this amazing award, but the trophy was SO heavy, she could barely hold it! She just instinctively handed it to him while she was up on stage, and now the internet is trying to cancel her? It’s ridiculous! Like, can’t people see she was just struggling with the weight? I’m seriously defending her against all the hate; it’s just blown way out of proportion. She’s amazing, and this whole thing is just unfair!

She explained to Vogue that she was puzzled when people accused her of being entitled. She was simply asking her friend, Lil Nas, to hold something for her while she gave a speech.

Those awards were really heavy! And right then, I received an important message. I didn’t want to be distracted by trying to keep from dropping everything.

Fans criticized Tyla after she jokingly said she was too weak to lift her award for Best Afrobeats while accepting it, calling her behavior ‘tacky’.

She received the award for her 2023 song, ‘Water.’ As she walked onto the stage at UBS Arena in New York, she was greeted by the stunning Halle Bailey, who wore a striking red dress, and rapper Lil Nas X.

Tyla looked radiant in a yellow, strapless dress with tasseled detailing as she accepted the silver Moon Person award from Lil Nas X. She happily took the statue, but politely declined the winner’s envelope offered by Halle, who is 24 years old.

The singer exclaimed in surprise, but quickly discovered the award was heavier than she expected. Turning to the two people beside her, she pleaded, ‘I can’t hold this, please help!’ and asked if one of them would take it for her.

Halle, a mother of one, smiled at the performer as Lil Nas X swiftly accepted the award on her behalf while Tyla was still giving her acceptance speech. However, many fans disapproved of this and voiced their opinions online.

After a video of the uncomfortable exchange appeared on Instagram, viewers reacted strongly. One person called it ‘diabolical’ and urged her to ‘have some decorum,’ while another described the act as ‘very tacky.’

One person playfully commented on Halle’s statement that she was only ‘holding her baby,’ while another Instagram user remarked that Halle’s complete stillness was remarkable enough to be studied.

People online made fun of Tyla, with one person writing, ‘She looks like the Little Mermaid and isn’t accepting your award!’ Another commenter joked that Halle Bailey rejected Nas’s attempt to present an award, leaving him with no choice.

Another fan commented that while she’s beautiful, her behavior seemed strange. Not hugging or even acknowledging anyone, then asking someone to hold her award, felt awkward.

One person said she ignored them and didn’t even say hello, but then asked them to hold her trophy as if they were her employees. Another commenter joked that she seemed a bit too self-absorbed.

As a lifestyle expert, I was so inspired by Tyla’s words when she accepted her award! She beautifully pointed out that the incredible success of her song ‘Water’ really shows the world that African music is pop music – and can absolutely have a global impact. It’s a fantastic moment for the industry and a testament to the power of diverse sounds.

‘This is just so special, but also bittersweet because I know there’s a tendency to group all African artists under Afrobeats,’ she continued.

Afrobeats is incredibly popular and has created a lot of opportunities, but it’s important to remember that African music is actually very diverse – it’s much more than just one genre.

She explained that she creates Amapiano music, a South African genre blending house, jazz, and the ’90s style called kwaito.

Tyla, originally from South Africa, proudly stated she was representing both the Amapiano music genre and her culture. She then gave a shout-out to her fellow nominees in the Afrobeats category, declaring, ‘Africa to the world!’
