For its Annual Passholders, Walt Disney World has announced two more “Good‑to‑Go” dates in October 2025, meaning park reservations won’t be needed on those days. These newly added dates, confirmed on September 30, 2025, are October 7th and October 9th. Previously, October 1st and 2nd were also designated as Good‑to‑Go dates.
What “Good‑to‑Go” Means for Passholders
Starting in January 2024, “Good‑to‑Go” days are specific dates when Annual Passholders can visit any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks without making a park reservation beforehand. Disney usually adds these dates gradually, announcing new ones just days or weeks in advance. These days are often weekdays or times when the parks aren’t as crowded.

Even on Good‑to‑Go days, restrictions still apply depending on your pass type. The Incredi‑Pass has no blockout dates at all. The Sorcerer Pass only has blockouts around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. The Pirate Pass can’t be used during many holidays and peak times, with fewer restrictions than the Pixie Dust Pass but more than the Sorcerer Pass. The Pixie Dust Pass has the most blockout dates, blocking access on almost all weekends and holidays.
Implications & Visitor Guidance
As a big Disney fan, I’ve been trying to understand the reservation system, and here’s how it works. If a date gets the Good-to-Go designation, any park reservation I already had for that day will be cancelled – it frees up a spot in my reservation allowance. Speaking of allowances, my Incredi-Pass or Sorcerer Pass lets me hold up to five reservations, the Pirate Pass up to four, and the Pixie Dust Pass up to three. And a really nice perk: if I’m staying at a Disney resort, I can also book a park for each day of my resort stay, which is super convenient!

Generally, on days when the park isn’t considered Good-to-Go, Annual Passholders need to make a park reservation by 2 p.m. Additionally, a reservation is always required to visit Magic Kingdom on Saturdays or Sundays, regardless of the time.
History and Evolution of the Park Reservation System
In mid‑2020, Walt Disney World began using a park reservation system due to worldwide lockdowns. This meant all guests-including those with Annual Passes-needed to book which theme park they’d visit ahead of time to help manage crowds. Since then, Disney has made several changes, loosening rules for some kinds of tickets. In January 2024, they introduced “Good‑to‑Go” days for Annual Passholders, allowing access without reservations on certain days, depending on their pass level and how crowded the park is. However, reservations are still needed on most days and remain a key part of how Disney manages access for passholders.

The park reservation system has gotten a variety of reactions. While some guests appreciate how it helps control crowds, particularly when the parks aren’t fully open, many Annual Passholders and regular visitors are unhappy with the limitations. People are often frustrated by the lack of flexibility, trouble getting into their favorite parks last minute, and issues when visiting with others who have different kinds of tickets. Common concerns include reduced spontaneity, difficulty accessing preferred parks on short notice, and complications when visiting with groups holding different ticket types.
Looking Ahead
Adding October 7th and 9th follows a trend of giving passholders more options when Walt Disney World attendance is typically very low. It’s still unclear if Disney will announce additional Good‑to‑Go dates for later in October.

Guests who want to visit should keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app or Disney’s reservation calendar for the latest information.
