Now that the holidays are here, Netflix has added two popular Christmas movies to its selection in the UK and Ireland. If you enjoy watching Christmas favorites, you can now stream Love Actually, which became available yesterday, and The Holiday, added today.
Released in 2003, Love Actually features a hugely popular cast, including well-known actors like Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy, Liam Neeson, and many others.
Richard Curtis wrote and directed this film, which weaves together nine different stories leading up to Christmas. It’s filled with memorable scenes, including a particularly moving performance by Emma Thompson as Karen.
What to Read Next
This heartwarming Christmas story follows several couples as they experience the joys and challenges of love, family, and weddings, all while traveling through busy airports.
I was so excited when The Holiday came out in 2006! It had an amazing cast – Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black were all in it, which made it even better.

Nancy Meyers wrote and directed this movie, which stars Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz as Iris and Amanda. The story follows the two women as they swap homes for the holidays and unexpectedly find romance.
Amanda, a successful Los Angeles woman going through a breakup, and Iris, a London journalist with a broken heart, decide on a whim to trade homes for the Christmas holidays, hoping a change of scenery will help them get over their relationship troubles.
UK fans of the holiday classic Love Actually will be happy to hear it’s now available on Netflix. The film recently came in second place in a survey by the BBFC, which asked 2,000 people about their favorite festive movies.

The classic Christmas movie Home Alone has been named the UK’s favourite, winning with 20% of the votes. Featuring Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, the 1990 film is now available to stream for free on Channel 4, with advertisements.
Love Actually came in second place, receiving nine percent of the votes. It was followed closely by It’s a Wonderful Life and then Elf.
Now that Home Alone has been named the UK’s most beloved Christmas movie, our recent research shows that feel-good, family-focused films remain central to how people in the UK enjoy Christmas, according to BBFC Chief Executive David Austin.
Love Actually and The Holiday are now streaming on Netflix.
I’m so excited – the latest issue of Living Legends is out! You can grab Ariana & Witches at all good newsagents or order it online for only £8.99. I can’t wait to read it!
