To secure their playoff spots in Cologne, both NAVI and Spirit require one more victory. Yet, their respective opponents also aim for the same goal. NAVI confronts a significant hurdle as MOUZ has proven to be a formidable force currently, deservingly earning top-tier rankings. On the other hand, Spirit seemingly have a less challenging opponent. Navi had a challenging encounter on their path to the next round, which they managed to secure in the Group B quarterfinals by overcoming FaZe. After dropping Game 1, they mounted an impressive comeback.
At the latest Austin Major, NAVI reached the top 8 bracket. However, they were eliminated by the current title holders, Team Vitality. In comparison to this event, NAVI recently brought in a new member to their roster: makazze, who was promoted from their academy.
In the initial clash at IEM Cologne 2025, Team Liquid met their match against MOUZ. Given their impressive form in recent tournaments, MOUZ were clear favorites for this quarterfinal showdown. The team has been on a roll, securing multiple top 2 finishes, which has placed them among the elite. At present, their main competition appears to be Vitality.
At the Austin Major, MOUZ ended up in the 3rd-4th position. During the semifinals, they seemed poised to potentially break Vitality’s winning run.

In their initial encounter at Cologne, Team Spirit played HEROIC. Surprisingly tight, the game was, with Spirit managing a narrow victory in overtime during game one. Given their status as Major Champions, this outcome was unexpectedly close.
In the recent major Counter-Strike 2 esports competition, Team Spirit managed to advance to the top 8, but they were unable to overcome MOUZ during the Austin Major playoffs. Following this tournament, a new member named zweih joined the roster, taking the place of magixx.
Although Aurora Gaming isn’t currently a favorite for CS2 IEM Cologne 2025, there’s still a good chance they could pull off some surprising victories.
In the past, the team currently under Aurora Gaming banner was affiliated with Eternal Fire prior to April 5th. With their new organization, they secured a 3rd place finish at PGL Astana 2025 and advanced to the top 8 at IEM Dallas 2025.
Two additional squads have qualified for the IEM Cologne 2025 playoffs: the lower final victors from each group. These contests will take place on July 29th.
