As a music enthusiast, nothing beats the excitement of attending a live concert. Summer offers an abundance of music events, with festivals galore and the perfect opportunity to crank up the tunes while cruising around in my car. Yet, there’s something truly special about the energy and shared passion that fills a concert venue during a gig.
Regardless of the season, it’s not just a summer event; instead, it’s any time of the year. Excitingly, this autumn, you have a chance to witness two bands from the 1980s performing together. The bands are Devo and the B-52s. Interestingly enough, their music does harmonize to some extent.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but draw parallels between my favorite indie games and the unique vibe of Devo. While “Whip It” is their undeniable blockbuster hit, they offer so much more than just that iconic tune. Their music, with its punk undertones and fearless experimentation, feels like exploring uncharted levels in a game. And let me tell you, their live shows are the ultimate boss battles – unforgettable, exciting, and always pushing boundaries.
B-52s and Devo are hitting the road together beginning in September
Just like the other acts, the band hailing from Athens, Georgia, the B-52s, embody energy in its purest form. They’ve got a collection of hits that are instantly recognizable, ranging from “Rock Lobster” to “Love Shack” and “Roam”. There’s simply no chance you won’t have a blast at one of their shows.
The duo is set to embark on an 11-city North American tour starting from September 24 in Toronto, with the final stop being Houston on November 2.
As an eager admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the public ticket sales for our much-anticipated shows will kick off on June 20 at 10 am ET. However, if you’re a Citi Cardmember like me, you get an exclusive advantage! Presale starts four days earlier, on June 16. So, let’s grab those tickets before they’re gone, shall we?
