When news broke about the collaboration between the San Diego Padres and the Goddess of Victory (Nikke), fans of the original game and the baseball team were left curious as to what this crossover might entail.
Stellar Blade’s creation, Nikke, is a widely acclaimed gacha game. Similar to other titles by ShiftUp, it frequently features scantily clad robotic women engaged in combat against bizarre and menacing beings amid an apocalyptic backdrop. To put it mildly, the plot isn’t exactly suitable for all ages.
Despite some apprehensions among the game’s enthusiasts about potential anime characters flashing on the big screen during this occasion, it has become clear that Nikke will play a more significant part in this game than initially anticipated.
In an exciting turn of events, Twitch streamer and cosplayer Emiru is set to don a costume representing one of the game’s characters for the opening pitch. Her live streaming of this unique event will give viewers an unprecedented front-row seat to the action.
Emiru is headlining Nikke’s San Diego Padres crossover
In recent times, there have been several unusual collaborations between anime and sports, such as the Los Angeles Dodgers partnering with Hololive, and Cygames endorsing the Kentucky Derby to advertise a game featuring racing with female horse characters.
Distinctively unique, Goddess of Victory: Nikke stands apart. Beyond its narrative and shooter mechanics, the game’s appeal lies significantly in its character designs and the authentic impact of weapon recoil on these characters.
Regardless, the San Diego Padres decided to collaborate with them for an entire baseball match on June 10. In fact, Nikke has even unveiled a complete promotional video showcasing their involvement in the in-game event and the Padres’ game day.

At this upcoming event, there will be special Nikke merchandise related to the Goddess of Victory, along with interactive experiences designed around the game. However, more specific details about these immersive activities have not been disclosed yet. Purchasers of the Theme Game ticket will also receive some exclusive merchandise.
Furthermore, Emiru, a Twitch streamer, is set to make an appearance dressed as Rapi, one of the key characters from the game. Since she’s a crucial figure in the narrative and appears in almost every significant plot point, it’s not surprising that they chose her to symbolize the game during this event.
It remains to be seen what other surprises are in store for the Nikke x Padres collab.
