This spy thriller is clever and keeps you guessing, though it’s not overly challenging or groundbreaking. Despite being somewhat predictable, it’s a very enjoyable film, especially thanks to the performances of Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson, who really elevate the story.

AV Club
While it’s definitely a thrilling spy story, this film is ultimately about the powerful bond of love and friendship between two women. They support each other as they try to uncover the truth behind their husbands’ disappearances and find a glimmer of hope along the way.

While Ponies, with Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson, has some bright spots, it doesn’t quite stick with you. It lacks the substance to be truly memorable and isn’t entertaining enough to compensate, ultimately making it a fleeting and forgettable film.
Ponies is streaming in the US on Peacock. There is no UK release date yet.
